why does king’s attack here sound like a fried chicken order
First, we have a scientist capable of making cyborgs...
Next, we somehow have duplicates of that cyborg...
And years later, we see machine that makes clones...
Adding to that, there are the experiments on a certain race’s abilities...
And finally...
the duality of my guy 😩💛
He's just the sweetest,,, i love him so much
and yeeess victory for my sanjiiii!!
KING-SAMA🔥👑 sexy... god why!
Bonus: Teenager King
things i wanna know more of
I know that the torture-loving freak was also tortured and persecuted, and who knows if we can take Queen’s word, but King’s definitely capable of a bit of deceit and wiping out subordinates for looking at his face (another kinda parallel with Boa Hancock), and was hellbent on making sure that Momonosuke’s execution went ahead.
Has a pretty face though.
And the story that I haven’t seen many posts about ( maybe it didn’t have enough angst, or King overshadowed it):
Sanji taking advantage and integrating Germa technology, rather than letting it take advantage of him. Keeping his kind nature intact. I think he’s been in control of the tech/affect from the moment he decided to fight Queen seriously (but there was that call to Zoro).
On the other hand, he seems a bit woozy in the following frame, but it might be Sanji going into sukebi-hearts-in-the-eyes mode, or...
Also, who’s asking for the medical kit? I thought it was the Beast Pirates for Queen or someone, like I thought it generated from the roof, but there is that “Thump”. Now I’m thinking it might be O-Some (the geisha) asking for help for Sanji. Is that pov from a fallen Sanji? (Edit in: Seems most likely. I’m not visually very literate). I’m kinda hoping he’s just going into full pervert mode, as distasteful as it might be. because it indicates he’s him and okay, (but it’s also kinda anti-climatic, so I can enjoy a sharp turn into angst too).
One Piece chapter 1035 spoilers
HOLY SHIT WHAT A CHAPTER
I cannot stop thinking about how it’s implied that Kaido thought he was Joyboy in the flashback with him saying “I’m the only one that can [change the world]” with that big Roger smile on his face. Something must’ve happened, he must’ve realised along the way that he was not Joyboy, and it would’ve broken him. So he became the person Joyboy would have to defeat - to witness who it was that fate had chosen over him. And that’s why he was so excited when initially facing Luffy on Onigashima and then so disappointed when he defeats him (albeit only briefly) and says “so you couldn’t be Joyboy either”. He has been disappointed by Oden before, and probably countless others (like Moria). He is the inverse of Luffy, showing us what the “bad timeline” in which he does not become the pirate king would look like - ending up a broken, depressed alcoholic who spends his time halfheartedly attempting s*****e for the adrenaline rush but knowing he can’t follow through because he has to see who the actual Joyboy turned out to be and he has to be there to measure himself up against him. This is one of the best storylines Oda could’ve come up with for the last part of the series.
Now to King - the parallels between the scene of Luffy rescuing Zoro and Kaido rescuing King are so strong. King’s unwavering loyalty to the man who rescued him and belief that he will still be the pirate king, even after Kaido himself has realised he is not Joyboy and cannot fulfil the destiny he so wanted to fulfil, is heartbreaking AND exactly how Zoro would act if Luffy followed down the same path as Kaido. And IT FUCKS ME UP.
I have so many more thought about this chapter - including HOLY HELL KING IS A BABE - but I’ll leave it at that for now. What are your thought?
#ONEPIECE1035
Okay so... I'll try, emphasis on try, to go through this chapter without it being 90% me ranting about how good King looks because wow - King looks great. Anyways...
The chapter title is: Zoro vs. King
We start off by confirming that Sanji won that fight, and it's concluded. That's what I was a little confused about last chapter because it seemed like a finisher but at the same time I wasn't sure...
But there ain't no coming back from Queen, Sanji's choreography of hit-after-hit-after-hit knocked him out.
Also... can we talk about how Sanji's first reaction after knocking Queen out is to make sure Osome is alright? And give her back Chuji, her pet mouse, after he starts reminiscing about his own pet mouse. He kept the mouse in his suit-pocket the whole time, like this man's kindness never stops.
Then we move back to Zoro vs. King (and let's take a moment to appreciate how we got these chapters in a row:
Chapter 1031 - Soldier of Science (Sanji centric) Chapter 1032 - Oden's Beloved Sword (Zoro centric) Chapter 1033 - Shimotsuki Kozaburo (Zoro centric) Chapter 1034 - Sanji vs. Queen Chapter 1035 - Zoro vs. King
Like we've been getting Zoro and Sanji action back-to-back for five chapters in a row now, and Oda is just finishing off all these fights so we can get to the main battle.
Anyways, Zoro is starting to figure out how King's powers work, and how his flames contribute to the fighting. King is faster when the flame is out, but his defenses get weaker and so Zoro can take advantage of that time to attack him. He just needs to keep up with his speed...
King's mask starts to peel off, and it is at this moment that I remember when I was wondering how Oda was going to make King look, right - Comedic or serious?
and honestly... nothing could have prepared me for this. I mean we got Katakuri, it's only right we get
LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ARE WE SEEING THIS? LOOK AT HIM???? I-
I was really going through it at this point, because Oda just doesn't miss with his right-hand man designs. King is described as having black wings, white hair and dark brown skin.
Will Zoro beat the racist allegations, man atp I don't know.
He is so wanted by the government people get 100M berries just to tell them details about how King looks, or any information. That's how much the government want information on the Lunarians.
That's why King was also seens being experimented on, in Punk Hazard, along with Kaido who saved him because he saw potential in him, in how strong King really is.
He recruits King and tells him he'll "change the world" -
And here's the interesting part, because in chapter 1014 after throwing Luffy down Onigashima into the ocean Kaido looks down and says "So you couldn't be joyboy either" and at that point I wasn't sure who else he was referring to but after this there's the possibility that he thought he himself could be Joyboy... but found out he wasn't after all...
Anyways, Kaido gives him the name King, since his original name is Arber/Alber/Albert (different translations but we're hoping the last isn't true because come on, albert?)
We're back to Zoro and King going at it, and Zoro telling King that "You've had your time on top!! Now you've gotta make room for us!!"
King produces "magma-like fire" and creates a Dragon to attack both his subordinates, who comment on his looks, and Zoro.
He tries to attack Zoro by changing his sword again, and taking Zoro's own swords but Zoro says that king won't "take away my named swords" and deflects the attack...
KHe attacks King with Bird Dance and slices him up from vertically from top to bottom (or well, he slices him from bottom to top but whatever)
Zoro figures out how to attack King so that his attacks have damage and tells King that he went from taking the attacks to blocking them - "Are you scared of my attacks now"
King: "I'll remember you as a swordsman that had some skill."
Zoro: "If you manage to survive, I'm the one that's gonna beat the memory of me into your skull."
Finishing moves - King's Imperial Guardian Flaming Dragon versus Zoro's King of the Underworld's three bladed dragons - 103 emotions - Flying Dragon Hell Blaze!!"
And honestly... look at this:
Peek the Ryuma parallels too, of Zoro slaying a Dragon! Amazing chapter.
No break next week?
