I am back with a vengeance and so. much. pain. Chapter 574 of One Piece? gone. don’t talk to me. It was so painful reading Ace’s last words “Thank you for loving me” knowing how much he struggled with accepting the fact that he deserves to live and love. Seeing all of his family there, fighting to free him, it was as if he was only then fully able to accept the fact that he was loved and no, it would not have been better if he was never born. That last sentence was just full circle, showing how he was finally complete as a person and I hate the fact that his character arc had to be ended by his death. I knew when I first started reading that he was going to die but, boy was I under prepared for the emotional damage of that scene. This chapter genuinely aches my heart. I am so late to the party but goddamn, I mourn the loss of this beloved character.
