Mallory Cooper was the complete opposite of Jack Barakat.
She was a straight A student in school, while Jack just barely passed. She was extremely shy and slightly anti-social, while Jack was loud and made friends extremely easily. She kept to herself and tried to stay out of the way, while Jack seemed to always be the center of attention. She usually kept her opinions to herself, while Jack was quick to state what he was thinking. She could easily walk into a room without being noticed, while Jack always needed to make an entrance. She was self-conscious, while Jack radiated confidence. She put everyone before herself, while Jack could be selfish at times.
She was always up early, while Jack would sleep past noon every day if he could. She rarely, if ever drank alcohol, while Jack drank quite frequently. She was short, just passing five feet, while Jack was just passing six feet. She liked reading and drinking coffee, while Jack liked video games and energy drinks. She was clean and organized, while Jack was messy and unorganized. She grew up with just a mom, while Jack grew up with two parents and two siblings. She liked vanilla, while Jack liked chocolate.
While you could list the differences between the two for days, there were just a handful of things that were similar between the two.
They both enjoyed the same music, and they both loved to play the guitar.
And I guess that was just enough to make these two become friends and stay friends for as long as they have.
