Now, as any good work with mecha-esque beings should, my work has a char clone. It’s set in stone. But after the new SRW trailer making me want to buy both V and X, tumblr user @cerastes’s infectious love of mobile suits and SRW animations, and looking at a copy of Ready Player One to see if it’s really that bad (enough bad from flipping to not want to read it)... I had a dumb idea.
Blah Blah Blah, mobile suits are now a reality. Many factions are fighting over rapidly redrawn borders. Blah Blah Blah, politics. Strong-willed soldiers all want to get the most out of this brave new world. So they customize their suit, and become the ace for their faction. And, because Char existed in fiction, they all paint their suit red...
The original idea was simply to have two nations at war each have a char clone, each wanting to be the true ace, thus making them rivals. Radio comms would be ablaze with their suspiciously similar nicknames. But why stop at two? The world is a large place, full of char clones that have never met one another.
