Honestly if you think the kid found the time to contemplate life somewhere during his time: trying to revive Bianca, on the run from monsters; running errands for Hades, being lost in China, trying to be Hazels brother and guide in the 21st century, learning about the 21st century, and trying to convince Percy to dip in the Styx, AND develop an entire Ascetic around it that he chooses to never share then good for you.

Feel free to tell me I’m wrong for reasons x and y, I know I can’t relate to him on a personal level, but when I was a 10-13 year old boy I was running around listening to the Beatles, discovering pop rock, diving headfirst into the first thing that I felt defined me (reading and rowing) and then spent any spare time jacking and not doing hw,

I’ve only recently even begun to consider the implications behind the words and the state of the world, and I don’t know if that says more about me, but it means I don’t see nico falling into any group or movement unless they happened to take him in and introduce him to positive human interaction for the first time in for fucking ever (and even then I seriously doubt they’d see little nico and decide to mould him to fit their ideals)

If you repost or comment show me the definition your working off of im genuinely curious how goths would define themselves and I don’t trust the bbc news definition of "refined and sensitive, keen on poetry and books, not big on drugs or anti-social behaviour"

Characters: Never A Demigod: Chyna Wilson 

Chyna was a fix-it baby. She had been born after the year of the scandal and before the move. Her birth was a catalyst for their parents to stay together.

Reasoning being, they loved each other enough to make another sweet girl, then it was worth it. And then on top of that, Chyna had also been the special one. She was gifted.

It had reverberations that lasted for weeks. 

When she was five years old, they discovered that Chyna could freeze time. Well, for two seconds. She could make those two seconds feel like five, is a better way to put it. 

It was noticeable, and it had scared Bea and the Twins at first, as you’d expect. They had looked in horror at their baby sister. That fear, turned into irritation and indignation (on the twin’s part), and then ripe confusion (on Bea’s part), when their parents were overjoyed.

That was the day the found out their Mother could warm thing to the touch, and their father could freeze things. In a manner of speaking. 

Their mother's hands could, as she demonstrated, warm a lukewarm cup of coffee or tea backup, to a steam. And their father’s hand could, as an example, cool down a bowl of soup to a eatable temperature.

They hadn’t planned on telling them, because frankly none of them had show to have any quirks of their own.

They had figured that the line ended. But Chyna showed the trait would be passed on. And it was different too! And more useful, her mother had cooed. Freezing time, making it stand still.

Daddy had said with pride, that thier family was special, “And so is your little sister.”

Chyna was the darling, the pet, the beloved. And the special one.

Did Chyna know she was a fix-it baby? 

Well yes and no, Beatrice decided.

Yes, growing up the twins had let her know about all the “fun stuff” she missed out on, being born twelve years after Bea. And sometimes when she was little she'd asked Bea if she thought Mama and Daddy ever wished they weren't married. She was aware of circumstances surrounding her birth.

But she didn't quite know it. 

Partly, she wasn't there to, and partly because being the treasure of the family came with a level of spoiling on top of also being the baby. She got to ride her tricycle in the house. She got to drink soda at night and eat cake in the morning if she wanted.

She got toys she saw on a whim, stay up late on school nights, and always got free reign of the TV. 

Chyna wasn't a bad kid, she didn't take advantage of it as much as she could have. And she didn’t pounce on the most obvious things she could get, like money...or...alcohol...probably.

But she also got their love. To see it. Feel their parents love more than the other things.

Bea had once asked Chyna what was her favorite memory growing up.

They had been outside laying on the porch, while inside Della was walking laps in the living room, and snapping at Hal for what he did to her. For putting this thing in her belly, how dare he.

Chyna's response? 

Seeing Mom and Dad slow dancing in the kitchen sometimes. Seeing them kiss while they all went out on day trips. Seeing Dad pull Mom into a hug, just because.

Those were her most vivid memories of them. Was it because they were so bright compared to the rest, or because mom and dad were comparably more in love after Chyna than before?

Bea didn't know. She didn't hold it against her in any event. Sometimes she wondered if the twins did.
