You know what I love? That one character who feels like they’re coming down with something and tries to hide it from everyone (maybe taking on more than the usual amount of work just to prove nothing’s wrong). A strange dizziness sets in as they get worse, feeling restless at night, making sleep all but impossible (painful, long, exhausting). They have no appetite, and even a sip of water makes them nauseous. From the corner of their eye, a teammate catches them grimacing, clutching their side.
“Hey,” they ask, brow creased, “are you okay?” They hold their arm out to steady them.
“I—I don’t know. I think... I need to... lie down...”
And then their legs buckle. The teammate doesn’t think as their arms wrap around them. The teammate brushes the back of their hand over the characters face and curses from the heat of it, their skin hot like a blazing furnace.
