Posting this here too because it actually kills me but everytime arakawa draws alphonse doing this my heart breaks 5 million times over. it's just a really nice detail showing his age through body language and I really love it. It's also interesting in my opinion because he can't feel the cloth but he does it anyways because I'm assuming it was a nervous tic of his. Which makes me think more about how his whole situation works in terms of like proprioception and things that carried over from his human body like this nervous tic of his.
Azriel and Cassian have fought at Rhysand’s side for centuries. If Rhysand was ‘slaughtering on the battlefield’ before Lucien was even born, so were Cass and Az.
To say that Lucien is at the same level as two fae that have centuries on him and that have basically been soldiers since they were children is laughable.
Yes Lucien is trained, and strong, and can fight— but Cassian and Azriel are on a completely different level.
Stop saying that Lucien dominated Cassian, or that he could ‘dominate’ Azriel ‘the same way’.
Guys maybe we are all wrong. The square hole is the REAL villian. It just get total control of our streamers' mind so the only thing they can do is expanding it endlessly…
Post pondering about Masked Shadow's origin reveal, mental state, and self perception.
*Spoilers for Mask Ending*
Thoughts under read more...
Do you think the Masked Shadow has forgotten it used to be a Sam?
As the narration progresses, Shadow seems to refer to and treat past Sam as a whole different person/entity. Which makes sense, since the Masked Shadow is distorted due to space/time, and it no longer resembles its own original form.
It cannot recognize Sam's face as something that used to be its own, Sam's face sprite is blanked out.
Shadow gets a headache when thinking about past encounters with its own self. The narration describes it as feeling overwhelmed, finite, and lost.
It can see the past, present and future, but does it even consider Sam's memories its own anymore? Can it even parse what it is seeing future-wise? It has no context for events that have yet to happen, can it somehow discern what it is witnessing is the past or future?
The poor thing.
I personally still view the Masked Shadow has become its own thing entirely, even with 2.0's update. And I headcanon that by the time Shadow settles on giving Sam the rose, that's when I think it has forgotten who it originally used to be.
All it knows it that it NEEDS Sam, and Sam NEEDS it. An un-cursed/stable Sam keeps the Masked Shadow grounded in a current time more easily. An anchor.
I have so many other thoughts about the Masked Shadow, but I want to hear other people's ideas on whether or not the Masked Shadow KNOWS it used to be Sam or not.
Has the Masked Shadow forgotten? Does it fully know it used to be Sam? Or maybe a mix of the two, flipping between the states of mind.
Here to say Paladin Danse from Fallout 4 is my character now
Bethesda murdered his character after Blind Betrayal and they lost custody of him
Romance with him is just so fan service to me, but my partner made the argument a lot of the romance is. He just loses a lot of depth to his character after the final affinity conversation. I think there should be a follow-up quest to him that goes more in-depth to him. I was really disappointed when I found out there was nothing because there's like still so much going on with him. Like he's still going to be suffering after being banished but there's like no additional dialogue after. I know it's been talked to death, but yeah the no change in general dialogue and acting like he's still in the Brotherhood is just poor writing. I get why he's still has prejudice afterwards (someone did a comic that explains it really well but I can't remember the user, I'll link it if I do), but he should definitely stop acting like he's still in them. It's just so shallow and I wish there was more. I haven't romanced any of the companions but him and Preston so I don't know if it's the same for all of them but it's so weird how he just stops having character development after his final affinity conversation. I also think that there should be a lot more to romance him because I know damn well with everything they gave us he would not instantly agree to be in a relationship with your character. He is the slowest of slow burns. But from a gameplay stand, I get people would be pissed as hell if you had to slow burn. In my little mind palace with my gay ass pirate I ship with him, he gets more fucking character development and it's the slowest of slow burns
I also know Bethesda can do more because they Skyrim and apparently you can marry and have kids with your partner. Why can't I get Danse pregnant :(
Had a convo with a friend on discord and. Man.
Despite being a CORE avenger, it's so strange that there's *basically* no fan content for Thor. I mean, yeah, he shows up in a ton of fanfics, yeah, but it's always as a background character, Avengers Funnyman/Butt of the Joke, or as the annoying/rescuer/overbearing/etc, older brother of Loki. But he's never explored as his own character. Which again is SO fucking strange as he is a core fucking avenger.
Like. Look up the differences between Thor-centric and POV Thor tags on Ao3, and then those same tags but for Loki, Steve, and Tony. It's actually astounding. (don't get me started on the lack of no fucking comics thor fics but that's a different convo and more so a by effect of the mcu being so prominent)
The Amount of Thor-Centric & POV Thor Fics
And then the numbers for Loki, Tony, and Steve.
I get twinks becoming tumblr-darlings and sexymen has a role in this, but like... Thor is attractive. There's plenty of smut and porn fics with him, why is there nothing exploring his inner world, his themes, what he's about as a character? He has tons of overlap with Steve & Tony, but then add on the fact that he is a fantasy character in a modern-scifi world.
Anyways there's my rant, might make this a thread and add on more later :///
Could I hear your take on skya from dinotrux's character? I've heard a lot of people interpret her in different ways and I'm really curious how you see her!!
I think Skya is one of the more well developend strong female characters. Strong female characters often dont get any flaws or personalities, they just disagree with the guys in the team or they are just cool because they hang out with boys.
I think they did a good job carefully showing how brave Skya is. They didnt try to shove it in our faces like "LOOK A BRAVE WOMAN OH MY GOD SHE IS A GIRL AND SHE CAN LIKE FIGHT OMG SO COOL" but it was shown through small things.
Skya is the only member of team Dinotrux who was not scared of Ty in the beginning or didnt try to fight him, whatsoever. Ton Ton was calm at first but later attacked because he ended up not trusting Ty. Dozer straight up gang attacked Ty with friends. Revvit and the reptools all hid and ran away first. But Skya had a normal conversation with him, she listened to him, she even asked him if he needed help with fighting Dozer. Wich is why i think the friendship between Ty and Skya works so well. Skya was the first out of the three to treat Ty like a normal person and Ty was the first out of the three to give her the lead in the group and show her that shes heard. I think they both gave each other something they wanted, Ty wants to be seen as normal and Skya wants to be seen as strong. They were the first two to treat each other as equals.
What i also think makes Skya likable is that she will handle when someone is in danger no matter how shes feeling or what shes doing at the moment, i remember in the second episode, when Revvit tried to get her to rescue Ty from the cliff, she at first had no interest because duh, argument, but as soon as Revvit says Ty is in danger, she immediatly complies. As soon as she hears there is someone in danger, she handles. She was angry. She wanted to be alone. But then she hears someones life is in danger. And boom. Instant attitude switch. Thats admirable.
I think the reason for Skya's attitude and wish to be seen as strong has something to do with how she grew up. She is a runner by nature, normally Craneosaurs run from predators, like T Trux or Poundersaurolophuses. When someone takes over their ground. They run. We have seen that Skya was almost killed by a Poundersaurolophus when she was a child, getting rescued at the last second. She was literally frozen in fear and almost got pounded when she was a child. I think that actually fucked something up in her. She remembers being frozen from utter fear, as a child, with a Pounder inches away from her, about to kill her. I think that is what drives her wish to be strong. She was frozen up from fear. She does not want to experience that anymore. Skya's attitude could literally be a trauma response. She was so scared that she didnt move. She fears to be seen as scared or weak. Its not just an annoyance of hers to be seen as weak, its literally something she is scared of.
