This was supposed to be for when I reach 100 followers but I've been stuck in 94 and I'm also impatient 🤭.
Thank you @lookismhell for helping me with some prompts🖤.

Simon: You betrayed our family. Benedict: I did not. Simon: You did, the very moment you chose darkness over us. Benedict: I cannot betray someone who's trust i never had. If anything, you betrayed me.
Dialogue prompt #45
Person A: "Look at them, they can't hurt a fly."
Person B: "He tried to stab you, twice!"
Person A: "Honest mistake really."
I tend to write a lot of lengthy dialouge. I feel it doesn't serve much of a purpose except to expand on characterization and to reveal the thoughts of characters. Could this be a problem or make my writing boring even if I think it's well-written?
There are several problems with lengthy passages of dialogue. The worst is that your readers lose track of who is speaking. I say this from experience. I have actually printed out pages of otherwise excellent fanfics and marked who was speaking with a pen; once or twice I’ve done this in books, but not often, Because Editors.
The underlying problem might be -- and I say might -- that you are using dialogue to cover what is called “head jumping,” or “head hopping,” and that’s when you have a dual POV. The term originated from 3rd person omniscient POV when there were only two speakers but writers jump back and forth so much it causes mental whiplash.
So if you’re sure you have a valid conversation between two characters, the thing you need to do is break up the dialogue with beats, or the characters physically interacting with each other, the scenery or themselves. I read a good starting book on this topic recently called She Sat He Stood. It’s 99 cents on Kindle, and you should know by now you can get a free Kindle app on your phone or other device. I will try to offer some insights from it in a post later on.
