Charlotte is warm-hearted, grounded, and deeply loyal to the people she loves. She has a calm and nurturing presence that makes others feel comfortable around her, though beneath her gentle nature is a strong sense of resilience shaped by heartbreak and responsibility. She is outdoorsy, hardworking, and happiest when she’s around horses, nature, or spending time with her daughter and family. Charlotte values honesty, stability, and genuine connection, and while she can be guarded after the betrayal from her former fiancé, she still approaches life with kindness and quiet optimism. Above all else, she is fiercely devoted to her daughter, Maisy, and the family who have supported her through every stage of her life.

full biography / background
triggering / sensitive content warning: topics.
Charlotte Newman is 37, and has spent her entire life in the small coastal town of Merrock, Maine. Unlike many people her age who eventually left in search of something bigger, Charlotte never felt the need to go anywhere else. Merrock has always been home to her — the forests, trails, stables, and familiar faces shaping nearly every important memory she carries. She grew up in a warm and loving household alongside her siblings, and the closeness she shares with her family has remained one of the most important parts of her life. Charlotte was adopted as a baby, and while she occasionally found herself wondering about her biological parents as she got older, she never felt as though anything was missing from her life. Her parents and siblings surrounded her with so much love, support, and reassurance that she always felt completely accepted and deeply wanted. Whether it’s Sunday dinners with her parents or spontaneous visits with her brothers and sisters, Charlotte has always treasured the comfort and stability her family gives her.
As a child, Charlotte spent most of her time outdoors. She climbed trees, rode horses, explored hiking trails, and stayed outside until sunset whenever she could. She was happiest covered in dirt, surrounded by fresh air and animals rather than sitting indoors. Her love for horses began early, and by the time she was a teenager, she was already helping around local stables and teaching younger children how to ride. The outdoors became more than a hobby for her — it became the place where she felt most herself. Her parents always encouraged her adventurous spirit, and her siblings often joined her on camping trips, horseback rides, and long summers spent near the water.
Now, Charlotte works as a riding instructor at Harmony Ranch, where she is known for her patience, calm nature, and genuine connection with both horses and riders. She loves teaching children and beginners, especially helping nervous riders build confidence. Though her life once seemed set on a very different path, things changed after the end of her ten-year relationship with her former fiancé. Together they had planned a future and welcomed their daughter, Maisy, into the world. But their relationship fell apart when Charlotte discovered he had been having an affair with his assistant. The betrayal deeply hurt her, especially after spending so many years building a life together, but she refused to let it define her. Having to co-parent with him is hard because she wants her daughter to have a life with her dad, but she doesn’t want to have to communicate with him anymore, so really it is just messages or calls about their daughter and nothing else.
Today, Charlotte’s world revolves around her three-year-old daughter. Maisy is the center of her life, and there is very little Charlotte would not do for her. Becoming a mother only strengthened the caring and protective side of her personality, and despite the heartbreak she experienced, she remains deeply loving, grounded, and optimistic. Her family has stood beside her through everything, helping her rebuild and reminding her she is never alone. Though life has not gone exactly the way she imagined, Charlotte still finds happiness in the quiet beauty of Merrock — early mornings at the ranch, evenings with her daughter, and the enduring closeness of the family who have always been her foundation.
