Hiding away in a corner, Curtis fiddled with his blazer cuffs, his eyes switching between downcast and scanning the room, his nerves on high alert. He hoped nothing happened to him or the few friends he could see in the room. He didn’t even know why he came. He was so out of his element it wasn’t even funny. It was when his eyes were downcast that someone seemed to separate from the crowd and approach him, catching him completely off guard. “Oh, h-hey there.”
