Hey guys! Fallout 3 had it’s 10th anniversary a few days ago, & to help commemorate it, @hydroflorix put together a tribute video with the help of a bunch of awesome artists, including me! A lot can happen in 10 years. ;)

This is a bit late, but the 10th anniversary of Fallout 3′s release was a couple weeks ago, & I wanted to draw something to celebrate. So I recreated my first drawing I ever did of my lone wanderer, Ruby, with Charon, but how they look 10 years later. Ruby’s now 30 years old, Charon is ???, they both have new outfits & they’ve made their way to the Commonwealth.

So I know Red and Charon are more a couple than Dweller and Guard these days, and good for them... but ghouls are known for having a smell like rotten flesh and worse. How does she deal with it?

(I’m assuming you mean Ruby, not Red, lol)

Y’know, I would think most of the wasteland in general probably wouldn’t smell all that great. & to Ruby, who spent 19 years in a hole in the ground with re-circulated air, I’m sure the second she stepped out of the vault, her nose was attacked by all sorts of new &...”interesting” smells, lol. But I figure she gets used to it eventually, just like every other wastelander. So Charon probably doesn’t smell all that much worse than anything else after a while. I imagine he smells a lot like leather & gunpowder.

First of all, I want to point out that I am very aware at how out of character this is for Charon, but I couldn’t resist the sappy fluff. LET ME LIVE.

2nd of all, this is sort of a belated birthday thing for Ruby, since Ruby’s birthday was March 9th, so happy late birthday to my lone wanderer! 🎁🎉🎈🎂

Also it was just something silly I came up with while re-playing Fallout 3 & the Mothership Zeta DLC, which is why Ruby was in space & Charon wasn’t there.

I'm not sure if you've already been asked this, but I've been curious. What were the qualities that your fallout OC's loved about their significant others? (like what stood out to them and caught their eye.) And Vice-versa. Love your work!

ooh, I like this question. :D (I’ll try to keep these brief so you don’t have to read a wall of text)

Red & Hancock:

Red really fell for Hancock when she saw what a sweet guy he actually was. When he wasn’t pretending to be the mean, scary mayor of Goodneighbor, he was just a soft-hearted puppy who wanted to help people, & that’s what won her over. Hancock felt an initial attraction to Red just from looks alone, but also from all the stories he had heard about her over Diamond city radio. Once he personally saw her in action, he couldn’t help but fall for her.

Charon & Ruby:

Ruby initially fell for Charon simply because he put up with her. She’s always under the impression that she’s completely unlikable, so the fact that he stayed with her & listened to her ramble on had her fall for him pretty quick. Sure, he acted like a grump & pretended not to care, but she could tell that he really did care for her well-being & that despite being big & scary-looking, he had a big heart. Charon fell for Ruby slowly & a bit hesitantly, but he really admired her selflessness. At first he thought she was crazy to keep putting her life at risk to help random strangers, but it soon became what he admired most about her. Plus the fact that she didn’t treat him like a slave, but as a friend, added to his affection.

Scarlett & the Yes Man:

Scarlett doesn’t really have a singular love interest, but she adores the Yes Man. The whole idea of him is just so silly & absurd, that she couldn’t help but fall for his trademark smile & upbeat tone of voice. Her attraction really is kinda one of those things you just can’t explain, but she still feels it in her bones. Yes Man loves Scarlett because he sorta has to. I mean, I’m sure he feels some form of affection since she let let him take over New Vegas, but in the end he’s simply programmed that way.

Been wanting to do some fun doodles for myself to help unwind, so I did some more of those “draw the squad” memes with some Fallout peeps. They’re super messy, but they’re just for fun, so whatever. :P
