“I can’t believe nobody saw one of the main performers get stabbed. That just... there’s definitely something dirty going on here, this isn’t just some random coincidence. Right?” Velma said, turning to Fred. “This isn’t just a random attack. Something definitely feels off or planned.”

“And that’s why I don’t wear contacts,” Velma said, pointing to someone who clearly had gotten glitter in their eyes and was frantically washing their contacts at a water fountain. Which was clearly a struggle. They looked back over to Fred when they felt they’d seen enough of that train wreck. “Well, that and I don’t think I can get my prescription in contacts. But that doesn’t matter. Point is, glitter is dangerous and shouldn’t go near eyes.”

INSOMNIA : for one muse to find the other still awake at 3am

Bill rarely had trouble sleeping. His job was both physically and mentally demanding, and he usually crashed easily after a long day. It was a different beast entirely with his family visiting. The Weasleys were a loud, rambling, raucous bunch, and he loved them dearly. He'd missed the general noise and company of them while he was abroad, and he knew he would miss it again when they returned home. He'd been raised in a big family; he'd never known any other way.

The news of Sirius Black's escape had put a bit of a damper on the holiday though. He knew their mother was only keeping it together so well because all the family was together. Even Charlie had been able to get away for the week. It was some combination of the above that drove him restlessly from his bed, unsurprised to find he wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep. Bill was staying at the inn to be close with them for their trip, his tiny Ministry flat not large enough for all of them. A flick of his wand, and the teapot poured a mug for him as he sank into one of the cozy armchairs. "Top that off for you?" He nodded to Fred's cup, pulling a flask of firewhiskey from his pocket.

“Your hair keeps falling into your eyes, do you know that? Here, lemme just—”

"Oh, um-- thank you. I was thinking about getting it cut." The ends of her vibrant red hair flailed in protest at the very suggestion, but Daphne was too busy trying not to blush to notice. She'd realized sometime around middle school that she had the world's biggest crush on Freddie, and sometime around high school that she had the world's biggest crush on all her best friends. In any case, Daphne was never serious about cutting her hair, even if she talked about it from time to time.

"You agree there's something weird going on in this town though?" She tried valiantly to get back on topic, even though Fred was closer than ever now, and she sort of wanted to just stare dreamily into his eyes for a while. Fred had very nice eyes. He had very nice everything. It wasn't a problem except in times like now, when it was totally distracting. So, you know, always.

It was pure instinct that had him ducking to the side and narrowly avoiding getting beaned by what turned out to be a Scooby Snack. Dean had a lot of fondness for the Scooby gang, more than the cranky hunter liked to admit, and far more than he had for those… Ghostfacers, or whatever stupid ass name they called themselves. Mystery Inc. was actually good at solving mysteries, for one thing. They also had a fondness for junk food, which went a long way to winning Dean's heart. And they came from a beloved pop culture show, so he was pretty much on board.

But yeah, okay, it was surreal as fuck to suddenly have them in his world, even with the precedent of once being a cartoon and solving a case with them. (His life had taken him in some… weird directions.) The real world was a lot shittier than a kids' show. Monsters were real here, and it usually ended bloody for hunters and meddling kids. He didn't want to see them get hurt. "Alright-- If we're hunting together, we need to work on your aim," he groused as he straightened up, cautiously in case there were any more flying dog treats headed his way.

“If you like comics, you should look into really any of the Image comics. They’ve got some very interesting stories and the art is to die for,” Perie says, trying to start a conversation with someone in the comic shop, noticing the large stack he was going through. She was really just there to browse, but he looked far more into this than she was. “I’ve read a few--I own a few more as references when I’m trying to sketch poses. But... yeah, they’re good. If you haven’t checked them out.” He probably has and she just sounds dumb, she doesn’t know. She feels herself getting a little overwhelmed by the conversation, as she often did once she started to ramble.

“Please tell me all the area 51 stuff is just a joke,” Velma said, putting their phone down. “Are people really that stupid? Please tell me you’re not actually thinking about going to this. Please.”

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I can't see myself playing Quidditch professionally. It's just a school sport to me.

I can't really see it, either. I mean, you are a brilliant player, but we both know what your real passion is. Speaking of which, how are those products of yours coming along?
