List of some straight couples/ships in fiction that I actually like despite only really caring for queer relationships in my media

I usually only consume media with queer ships. Most of the time, straight couples just don't do it for me. There is less chemistry and communication, it's often formulaic and based on reminding you about heteronormative ideals and the male gaze. But sometimes we get characters that feel more real, who's relationships I can feel for and relate to even though they are not inherently queer. They break out of the stereotypes and creating a genuine portrayal of. connection. Here's a list of some standout pairings that I actually get excited to see in media because they just work:

Bob/Yelena from Thunderbolts (Fannon)- I watched this in the theatre and came out wondering why the hell I was finding myself shipping a straight pairing throughout the movie. Idk, it's cute and I'm a sucker for a hurt/comfort dynamic. My favorite ship for this film is definitely still making them all be poly for each other, but that also includes Bob/Yelena.

Roy/Keeley and/or Jamie/Keeley from Ted Lasso (Cannon? Off and on)- Again, another one where my love for the ship is an extension of my love for the obvious conclusion of these three being poly and all dating each other (bc I'm also a Roy/Jamie truther). But I still appreciate these dynamics and I support either if Roy/Jamie/Keeley isn't an option.

Marius/Cosette from Les Miserables (Cannon)- These bitches are cute despite the pairing being straight (I headcannon both are bisexual). What sold me on this was seeing the US tour a couple of years ago and these two were just adorable. My favorite neurodivergent, absolutely clueless couple. Sorry Eponine.

Ray/Chatterbox from the Nopixel GTA V Roleplay Server (Cannon)- Okay, so not everyone is going to know what I'm talking about when I say I ship Valkyrae's GTA RP character with a crazed criminal's clown, gang leader alter, but for those who do, it's obvious why. These two are dysfunctionally perfect for each other and they can love and support each other through gang wars, arrests, and dissociative disorder and personality issues. They are both hot messes and I wouldn't have it any other way. Found family at it's best and craziest.

Elle/Emmett from Legally Blonde (Cannon)- I adore these two. They have so much respect for each other and they are such a supportive couple. I (and several of my friends) will die on the T4T Elle and Emmett hill. This ship is peak, especially in the musical.

Goodsir/Silna from The Terror (Fannon? Felt cannon...)- Two lovely people who deserve the world and to grow old together. I so wish I could give them that. They overcame communication barriers and racism and a giant bear spirit to connect with each other. If only it could have lasted. (Why is this the only image I could find of them on google?!)

Honorable Mentions:

Lupin/Tonks from Harry Potter (Cannon, but I support a fannon version)- I know it's controversial, but these two were my favorite characters growing up and so it makes sense for the them to be together in my head somehow? This is also under the assumption that Tonks is nonbinary, wolfstar also happened, and both of them are bi/pan as fuck. That's why its an honorable mention, as I support a queer version of a cannon straight pairing (come on, their baby is literally blue hair and pronouns)

James Fitzjames/Crozier from The Terror (Fannon)- I ship them when it's gay and when it's not. Love me some trans fem Jamie Fitzjames.

I am trying so hard to be Normal about the Chatterbox/Ray Mond (chattercups, chattycups, chatterray, chattyray, etc) but God damn is it hard. There are only TWO (2!!!!) fanfics on AO3 of this pairing and I am losing my MIND.
