Can’t find the blog: someone was asking why people open egg boxes in supermarkets-
The obvious thing is that all the eggs are there and not visibly damaged
My spouse was a supermarket manager when I met him and when we shopped together I eventually asked him why he opened the egg box and did a poking thing with the eggs—like: what can you magically tell by touching the eggs?
The answer is: if an egg has a small crack in it the contents will slightly seep out and a very slightly cracked egg (which you might not spot by visual inspection) will be stuck to the carton—if you poke it, it won’t move
So just touch the eggs lightly, if they move they’re probably not got invisible cracks
