finished! the fact that it’s made out of a linen sheet that was used until it was wearing holes gives it a really nice, lived-in look immediately. i like it a lot. even though this was intended as just a mockup, i think i’ll add it to my wardrobe.

I started this piece, “Women’s Work,” a little over three years ago. It was a stop and go project—lots of breaks, lots of reworking. It’s also a story of skill. I did the fiber half first and you can tell, because the food half is significantly better in terms of coloring, tension, and coverage.

I’ll post better pictures of it later; as soon as I set the last stitches I screamed, put it on, and snapped these photos for posterity.
