Cheeseless Cheese Cake

They leisurely, but silently, walked side by side down the beach.

The weather was not nice: It was cold and the sky was covered with clouds. She was cold, and wondered if he was, too. But she said nothing. He didn’t know her, after all. Just as she didn’t know him. They had simply happened to walk down the beach together, one Saturday afternoon, weeks earlier – and every Saturday since. It was no relationship, no friendship. Just a constant, something they could always count on. Everyone needs something like that in their life.

They came to her house. He nodded at her, then walked away. She watched after him for a second, thousands of questions on the tip of her tongue. But the questions flew away in spirals with the sand, caught up by the cool wind on the beach. She turned around, slipped into her house, and happily began preparing her lunch.

I tried trader Joe's butternut squash pizza crust and it was good and crispy. I made a vegan garlic white sauce and added zucchini and chardonnay smoked chicken apple sausage.
