77- "It's an honor just to know you like this." Zutara

Katara glanced at his face as he stared up at the aurora in awe. “Isn’t it beautiful?”

Zuko nodded, almost dazed. “This is one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen.”

“When I was younger, Mom would bring us up here to pray to the spirits.” She whispered, “I always wished for a world with no war, so I could travel and fall in love with someone…”

He brought his gaze down to stare at her, and Katara flushed brightly. “Sorry, that’s stupid—just a little girl’s dream—“

“Don’t apologize for confiding in me, Katara. I like hearing about your childhood. It’s an honor just to know you like this.” He brought her hand up and softly kissed the back of it—stealing her breath away in the process.

Katara was speechless. She felt her mind blank for a moment before her mouth was moving. “You and your honor.”

Zuko chuckled awkwardly, and Katara felt herself deflate as he put her hand back down and let go. She’d definitely ruined the moment.

“Well, seems like the spirits listened, for the most part. What would you pray for now, as an adult?”

She hesitated before powering on, “The spirits gave me everything I wished for.”

His eyes searched her face before he frowned and dropped his gaze to the frozen ground. He murmured, “Is that so…”

“It is.” She stepped closer to him, willing him to look back up at her. “My prayer now…is that I have the courage to tell him.”

Zuko sighed, rubbing the back of his head before grunting, “Well, I’m sure the guy will be pleased. Maybe we should head back—”

“Zuko.” She spoke his name softly, causing his eyes to jerk up to hers. She could see the jealousy blazing in his eyes, and it almost made her giggle. Didn’t he know it was him?

His eyes widened as she stepped even closer, almost flush against him. She gripped the fur-lined lapels of his red coat. “W-wha—”

Katara surged forward and covered his lips with hers. It was brief, and she pulled back quickly to see his reaction.

Zuko seemed to be frozen in shock. He stared at her, mouth open, unblinking.

She bit her lip for a moment, unsure. She...hadn’t read the signs wrong, had she? She was so sure he felt the same...

Slowly, Zuko’s face turned pink, and then red. She grew alarmed when steam seemed to roll off of him. “Zuko...?”

Katara got a glimpse of him covering his face before he disappeared. Literally.

“Zuko!” She gasped, kneeling and looking down into the Zuko-shaped hole in the snow. It was still steaming, melting into water around the edges of his imprint. She saw him laying a few feet below the surface, just out of arm’s reach.

He was still covering his red face when she heard him mumbling about how embarrassing this was. Katara twirled her hands around each other. “Um...I’m sorry that I embarrassed you, Zuko. You can just forget that I ever did that.”

Zuko sat up sharply, eagerly raising himself onto his feet towards her, his torso just coming out of his self-made hole. “What? Forget it? Forget the most perfect moment of my life?”

She blushed, gapping at him. Wait, so he enjoyed it?!

He huffed a short laugh, “Katara, do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted to kiss you? I was just surprised. And...lost control of my fire. Don’t tell Azula that happened.”

Katara giggled before grabbing her stomach, uncontrollably laughing. Zuko flushed again and grabbed at her, “Stop laughing at me and kiss me again.”

She snorted even as he pulled her across the snow. “Oh geez, I dunno, Zuko. You might melt further down and then what?”

“Then I would hope my water bending girlfriend would get me out.”

She grinned. Girlfriend. Girlfriend.

“I suppose she might, if she’s feeling nice. And if her boyfriend would actually kiss her instead of—”

Zuko’s lips cut her off, and she smiled into the kiss.

The Southern Lights were her favorite thing again.

I Don’t Want to Ruin Our Friendship | Feb 3

Ok Feb 3 prompt for the OC Trope Challenge by @ocfairygodmother​

Pairing: Kudra/Maul

Word Count: 643

Tags/Warnings: More fluff, master/apprentice relationship (they’re like the same age though), mentions of sex (this takes place right after they first boned on Mustafar lol), sappiness, OC is awkward after boning her Sith Master for the first time  -_- once again don’t read if you don’t like fluff about Maul

Kudra woke in her small bed sweating profusely. She pushed the covers off and felt a soreness she hadn’t felt in quite some time. Oh no. The memory flooded back to her, of making love to the Sith Lord on the temple floor last night. 

Her eyes filled up with tears at how she had ruined the dynamic between them. What was she even thinking? She NEVER slept with people she worked with or for. Albeit, this was a different working relationship than she was used to, but it still felt like it was better left professional.

He was different though, she had to admit. Not only physically, I mean give me a break he’s the hottest person she’d ever seen in her life, but just everything about him mesmerized her. His smell, the sound of his voice, his mysteriousness, the crinkle of his nose, his fiery passion. Well, this wasn’t helping she realized. She shook her head in an attempt to break away from the  lustful thoughts.

She shot out of bed and stripped down to take a shower. The water was hot, almost scalding, the way she liked it. It left her skin dry and itchy if she stood in there for too long, but at the moment it was bliss.

A knock at the door.

“Just a minute,” she yelled while jumping out of the shower, grabbed a towel, and rushed towards the door. No use in letting the Sith Lord wait. She wrapped the towel around herself and answered the door.

Maul was at the other end, of course, who else would it be on this deserted mine shaft. His eyes grew big as he stared down at her still dripping wet figure covered by the small white towel.

Her mind was elsewhere. Thinking about how to fix what happened last night. Somehow her being almost nude didn’t quite cross her mind as being unprofessional. She was so worried about making him wait, she didn’t even think about what she wasn’t wearing and that water was dripping off her.

“Yes, master?”

“I…” His eyes looked past her, not wanting to look anywhere inappropriate. She looked behind her to see what he was looking at and then looked down at herself, covered in a tiny sopping wet towel only.

“Oh my. KRIFF! I’m sorry. I’m… I wasn’t thinking… I didn’t want to make you wait.” She scrambled to find her robes to cover herself up and in the process revealing even more skin as she fumbled around.

The Dark Lord of the Sith looked around the room as she revealed nearly all of herself to him in an attempt to look, but not look. It wasn’t working. For either of them.

Kudra eventually found her robes to wrap fully around her body. The damage had been done and both of them were quite embarrassed even if some may not like to admit it more than others.

“I just wanted to make sure you were ok, after last night…” Maul trailed off uncharacteristically. 

“Yeah. I wanted to talk to you about that too.” Kudra looked down, too ashamed to look into his glowing amber eyes. “I should not have done that. I-I- I’m sorry.” She gulped down a mere fraction of her shame.

“Oh.” He reached out to her with a gloved hand, holding her at the waist. “And why shouldn’t you have?”

“You’re...you know… my Sith Master. We should keep things professional. We have to work together and it’s ...I complicated things by doing that. And yes I realize you could have turned me down if it really bothered you, but I ... I shouldn’t have even put us in that-”

The hand not holding her waist reached up to place a gloved finger at her lips to shush her.

“You know so little of the ways of the Sith.”
