*whispers* you totally -should- write a fic about Matsuhanas *slides away*

i’ve had this in my drafts for a year, i hear it begging me to finish it every night

“Catch,” Matsukawa says, throwing a crumpled-up paper ballat Hanamaki.

It sails through the air almost lazily before bouncing offHanamaki’s chest. His fingers twitch, as if to catch it, but he just ends upwatching the ball as it falls to the floor and rolls to a stop under the bed.

Hanamaki looks up at him and frowns. Or at least, attemptsto, judging by the slight squinting of his eyes. Matsukawa privately thinkshe’s probably too tired to do anymore than that.

“What was that for,” Hanamaki croaks, and Matsukawa feelsdeadbeat tired just by proxy.

“If you’d caught that, I would’ve trusted you to getyourself home safely, but as it turns out—” Matsukawa casts a slanted look atwhere the ball rolled— “you didn’t, so I can’t.”

Hanamaki squints harder, and at this point Matsukawa isn’tsure how much of that is him disagreeing and how much is actual exhaustion. Hefeels faintly worried when no sassy quip falls from those lips. He points tothe bathroom.

“Wash your face, brush your teeth—there’s a sparetoothbrush, just. Do what you gotta do, and I’ll get you a change of clothesfor bed. I’ll take the couch.”

Hanamaki rubs sleepily at his eye with a knuckle andMatsukawa’s stomach give a painful squeeze because it’s a truly adorable sight.“Look, Matsukawa, I’ll be fine—”

Matsukawa reaches over and presses two fingers to the centreof Hanamaki’s chest, with what he knows isn’t even enough pressure to make atoddler fall.

Hanamaki stumbles back a step. Matsukawa’s lip twitches.

“Bathroom,” he says gently, and this time, Hanamaki listens.
