Friday FRIYAY at the #MissionKitchen for this Krew. It felt great to hear these words of gratitude. Our hearts go into every meal ππππ We started with @___krunks___ learning how to create memorable mashed potatoes - he added roasted garlic and his own blends of herbs, with some salt and pepper to go from bland to "WOW!" On one side, a chicken, shiitake mushroom and onion stir fry; on the opposite side, stir fry fresh veggies! This was finished with a tender drizzle of Chef @willkk secret stir fry sauce! #ChefR created a sweet and delicious fruit salad with berries and mango, plus oranges and apple, for dessert. I added a mixed green salad with fresh tomatoes, cucumber and mushrooms in a creamy dressing (there were 3 different dressings through the day), topepd with half a hard-boiled egg finished with a dash of paprika. The blockbuster meal was completed with a selection of bread kindly donated by @panerabread - the perfect accompaniment. In addition to the 100-150 meals prepared daily for clients of the Mission, we also make another 10-20 lunches for our precious volunteers. #togetherwerebetter #buildingavillage Christian and I draw something on the takeout containers for the volunteers - pictures or today, sayings. We want them to know how much they're appreciated.
