Ninjangst Day 4: Helpless
Since my brain is stuck in shipping mode. I’m gonna do another ship that’s not talked about often.
And a scene from a future season 4 fic in Clouse’s perspective.
It was in that moment when he was distracted that it happened.
The transformation doubled on his Master and the Elemental Powers collided with it, corrupting the man further. The sorcerer threw his adversary to the others and went to his side.
“Master. Master, Remain sane.” He placed his spellbook back in the leather pouch on his back while he placed his hands on him.
“Master please..” He held his hands on his face, leaning his forehead on the other’s.
“Chen.” He spoke his name so lowly.
All he got back was a pair of dark brown pools gazing back at him with regret. “Clouse.”
His mouth spilled blood as teeth fell and fangs took place. Clouse could hear the sickening crack of bones popping in places there shouldn’t be while the spine extended and he took shape of a serpent.
It wasn’t supposed to be happening like this. The transition was painless at first. Why was it still going? This is bad. This was very bad.
Clouse watched as his other kept changing into more bestial, loosing more and more of his human features.
“Chen just stay with me. It’ll be over.”
He couldn’t help him. The man was just becoming more of a monster. The staff got absorbed into him. His face elongated into a snout and a gem came through the top of his skull as it glowed in different colors.
His dark pools flickered to a deep mix of magenta and red of an Anacondrai. His eyes looked up at something coming right at them.
An enlarged arm swiped the sorcerer away. “CHEN!”
An Anacondrai spear pierced right through his skull and shattered the crystal in the process. Blood spilled. A roar of pain escaped the former man now beast just as he fell.
A figure stepped right on his head and pulled the spear out. “The Ninja hadn’t needed to kill, but I’ve spilled blood before. I have no problem with it.” She voiced out.
Clouse was gone the moment before Garm could turn to see him. The sorcerer kept running with the remnants of Chen’s crown in hand while he desperately held in cries. It took him a while before he finally hid himself away..
A secret place for the two. It was special to just them. The ebony haired man could remember how excited the redhead was over finding it. Oh he could still remember how they celebrated over capturing the Elemental Masters and their powers. Drinks in hand lead to offers being made which lead to.. a lot more, which he won’t share details about.
Granted it was early to celebrate and Clouse had a feeling but he elected to ignore it and...
It costed him to lose the only other person he cared about.
Clouse slid down the wall and sobbed, holding the headpiece up against him. “Chen...”
For another time in his life, he felt helpless and now Chen wasn’t here to help him stand back up on his feet.
He felt helpless to his emotions and flashbacks of his memories of them. “Master Chen and Lord Clouse... Doesn’t that sound wonderful?” He could still hear Chen’s voice from the night before. He scoffed at the idea at first, but he did wonder if Chen was playing favorites or if he was being practical for once. He nodded as tears slipped out. “Yes... yes it does..”
He could feel himself ache on the inside. His Serpentine form faded out as he kept his hold. “It’s a yes...” his voice was barely above a whisper. “I’ll be your new Lord..”
Droplets of water dripped on the skull of the headpiece. He remembered accidentally knocking the piece off of Chen who was only in a fit of giggles with him before he went quiet just as small wet and muffled sounds soon followed.
Now it was gone all too soon.
All those years wasted down the drain.
All that loyalty he had for him was still lingering like a little flame desperately trying to stay lit.
All that planning was for nothing.
He couldn’t even save him.
Clouse felt helpless and it felt even worse than the first time.
