The Chengs really stand out in season 2. Especially the sons. It turns out Cheng Wei is not really interested to be the family's head and want to only support his brother. He might be a jerk to Tu Li in s1 but it seems he's actually a good brother to his lil bro Cheng Xuan.
Then Cheng Ran was finally caught by their grandfather after he risked his position to tell Jing Xuan to save Tu Li. See? He's actually a good guy. My guts is correct. So he's heavily punished but Cheng Xuan his son arrived to intervene because family shouldn't be like this. Cheng Ran revealed that he's always treated like an outsider by their grandfather. I just wish he will not die in this story. He's my fave.
The grandfather entirely lose his trust toward Cheng Ran so he's giving Cheng Ran's job now to Cheng Xuan. It looks Cheng Xuan is turning against his dad. I hope he's turning against in a way he want to investigate the truth. Not in a way "Dad lied to me so he's evil and grandpa is the good guy" bullsh*t. Cheng Ran still refuse to say anything to his son but Cheng Xuan manage to outwitted him and find out he's making a deal with Jing Xuan. Since he's imprisoned, Cheng Xuan is the one who met Jing Xuan.
By meeting Jing Xuan, he learned so many things. Jing Xuan originally can't control his power as a child and end up hurting Cheng Xuan. Cheng Ran and Jing Xuan's dad decided they will seal his memories for good. From what I understand, the real motive of Jing Xuan's dad behind the tragedy is to save his wife who's dying after giving birth to their son and the condition of their son's power that can hurt other people. Cheng Xuan concludes that Jing Xuan and his dad are only victims from the tragedy and seem his grandfather is the mastermind. Cheng Xuan is too smart for this lol
