can i have a chen scenario like a valentines’ day type with fluff?
Your best friend Chen insisted on coming over to help you make chocolates for Valentine's day, but so far, all he was doing was making a huge mess.
"Watch the pot Chen!", you shouted as you smelled something burning slightly.
He ran over to the stove right away.
"Oh no, I burnt it again. This is the third time", he pouted, taking the pot off the stove.
He dumped the contents in the trash and walked over to the sink to wash it. You looked at him and he had his lower lip poking out as he washed the pot. You felt bad.
"H-how about I melt the chocolates for you and you just decorate them?", you offered.
His head shot up and immediately grinned nodding his head up and down. You chuckled at his reaction. You grabbed more melting chocolate and took the pot from him and grabbed a metal bowl. You filled the pot with water and placed it on the stove with the metal bowl on top of it and poured the chocolates in.
"So who did you want to make these chocolates for anyway?", you asked as you slowly stirred the chocolate.
"It's a secret", he said smiling, focused on mixing up the cake batter for you.
"And who are you making these cupcakes for?", he asked nonchalantly.
"That's a secret too, you'll find out on Valentine's day", you answered.
"Oh, so what kind of guy is he?"
"He's handsome and really funny. Being around him always makes me forget all my stress and troubles and--", you mused.
"Ahh, stop. Just stop, you're going to make me jealous", Chen said cutting you off.
"Ha, why would you be jealous when you have someone you like already anyways?", you said without thinking.
You were laughing but helping him make chocolates for some other girl made you feel a bit bitter. Especially when the person you were making the cupcakes for was him. There was a chance the girl would reject him so you didn't feel too bad about giving him the cupcakes, but it wasn't like you were confessing you were in love with him or anything. Although you did like him more than just a friend...
"S-so what kind of girl is she? She must be special to make you go out of your way to do something you're not used to", you asked as you noticed there was an awkward silence.
"Yeah...she's special", he replied.
You turned off the stove and looked back at him because he said it in a voice that you rarely heard him talk in. He was slowly mixing the batter with a smile on his face. He must really like her...
"She's perfect, not just in looks but her personality as well. I've never met anyone like her", he finished.
"W-well, I hope she accepts your chocolates", you replied smiling weakly.
You felt a pang of jealousy, but you cleared your throat and tried to push it away.
"Look! Isn't this perfect?! I should've became an artist!", Chen bragged.
His friend walked over to look at the picture he drew with the chocolate bags she prepared for him. He watched her put her hands on her hips and nod in approval.
"It's nice! That's my favorite character, she has good taste!", she complimented.
That made Chen's heart race a bit. But he noticed there was a hint of sadness in her eyes and voice. She must have noticed him staring at her because she looked at him with a look on her face that clearly read 'what?'. He quickly cleared his throat and smiled as he continued to draw out more chocolate characters.
Chen's chocolates were chilling in the fridge so he was helping you frost the cupcakes. They were red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting that you tinted a pink color. You topped them with little heart sprinkles as well.
"Should I pipe a red heart onto one?", Chen asked suddenly.
"U-uh, if you w-want", you stuttered.
"Okay, I'll make it perfect. After he sees this, he won't be able to stop himself from falling for you!"
You chuckled a little bit at Chen's enthusiasm but it also made you feel a bit sad. He wasn't the least bit jealous or sad that you were making cupcakes for "some other guy". Well, you were friends after all, that was only natural. Maybe you were stepping over the line by making him the cupcakes. Oh well, you came this far now, the worst that could happen is that he rejects you right?
Finally it was Valentine's Day. You waited until it was around night time to call Chen out. You wanted to give him time with the girl he was giving the chocolates. Although you were hesitant on calling him out in case he wanted to spend more time with her, you did it anyways. Luckily he agreed so you took it as a good sign. You waited for him at the park by his house with the little box of cupcakes. Once you saw him walk through the entrance you hid the box behind your back and waved with one hand.
"Oohh, it's cold!", he exclaimed, rubbing his arms through the thick padded jacket he had on.
"What did you need to talk about?"
"U-uh, how did it go with the girl?", you asked awkwardly.
"W-well, I didn't get a chance to see her yet...", he answered a little hesitantly.
"O-oh, I-I'm sorry...", you said softly.
"What about the guy you made the cupcakes for?", he asked.
"U-umm, I didn't g-get the chance to see him yet e-either", you stuttered.
Now you felt bad. He didn't even get a chance to confess to her yet and here you were. But if you didn't take this chance, you didn't think you'd ever have the courage to do so. Maybe this was a sign. There was a moment of awkward silence. Neither of you were looking at each other. You took a deep breath, here goes nothing.
"Here! These are for you!", you shouted with your eyes shut tight, holding out the box of chocolates in front of you.
You heard him chuckle a little. You peeked at him with one eye. He was standing there smiling, with his hand stretched out. He was holding out the bag of chocolates he made with you the other day.
He took the box of cupcakes from you and placed the bag of chocolates in your hand. You stood there speechless, unable to say a word. He then stepped forward and pulled you into a hug.
"They were always for you".
