SISTER CITY BLEND (green aroma, Haus blend) (photos below)
Cherries unite the state of Michigan and Japan’s Shiga Prefecture, our sister state ~ our TeaHaus cherry tea celebrates this relationship.
PREPARATION: 3 g tea leaves (1 heaping tsp) per 8 oz filtered water, boiled and cooled to 90°C/194°F; brew 2 minutes
INGREDIENTS: Premium roasted green tea and Japanese mulberry leaves from Shiga Prefecture, and Michigan freeze-dried tart cherries
LEAF: Large dark green mulberry leaves with dark brown twig-like houjicha, made alive with bright red pieces of Michigan tart cherries
INFUSION: Light pinkish
AROMA: The buttery mulberry leaves are accented by houjicha’s toastiness
LIQUOR: Bright and light—somewhat tart—cherry balances perfectly with sweet and toasty notes; this tea’s low caffeine content means you can sip this tea any time of day or night
GO BLUE (white aroma, Haus blend) (photos below)
School is starting here in Ann Arbor, which means it’s Go Blue season! This tea also features pure Michigan flavors: apples and blueberries.
PREPARATION: 3 g tea (2 heaping tsp) per 8 oz filtered water, boiled and cooled to 80°C/176°F; brew 2 minutes
INGREDIENTS: White tea, freeze-dried apples & blueberries, mallow blossoms, butterfly pea flowers, and natural flavor
LEAF: Lightly oxidized tea leaves and buds generously sprinkled with blueberries, apple pieces, and colorful blossoms
INFUSION: Light blue hue
AROMA: Fruity and light
LIQUOR: Sweet blueberries accented by tart apple
GO GREEN (green and white classic, Haus blend) (photos below)
The Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area is also home to another fine university, EMU, that sports green & white (as do those MSU fans among us).
PREPARATION: 3 g tea leaves (2 heaping tsp) per 8 oz filtered water, boiled and cooled to 70°C/158°F; brew 2 minutes
INGREDIENTS: Green tea and white tea from China
LEAF: Light green leaves interspersed with silvery-white buds
INFUSION: Pale green
AROMA: Vegetal from the green tea but an earthy floral from the white
LIQUOR: True to its aroma
If you heard green tea is healthy, and you want to drink it more but don’t really like it— here’s some stuff you may be doing wrong, and how to make it awesome
- green tea burns at a pretty low temp, so make sure your water is only vaguely hotter than your own body gemp when you put the bag or loose leaf in. You can always heat it up in a micro after you take the tea out
- get you some cherry tea— I got mine “summer cherry” from a place called Teabaggers in Urbana OH. They’re strong so p it those in after the green tea bag is half done.
-add like an itsy bit of honey
My gf who does not like green tea tasted this shit and said “it tastes like candy” which is what we love to hear when tryna be healthy
Cherry Chamomile Tea💮🌸☕
So we got a big bunch a' cherries the other day n I've been wanting to make a tea with em and today I found my pot's missing filter and this was the result. I took the seeds out n put them straight on the filter, pushed a bit to get the juice out, poured a tiny bit of sugar and Chamomile tea, then added boiling water spiced up with cinnamon. It tasted Soo sweet n full of love. Happy gemini season y'all!
thought of a cute lil way to charge my sun teas with some of my earthy bracelets 💕
