Re: the bi lesbian thing, I am very much an aroace trans guy, but as a rule I view gender/sexuality labels as like. Imperfect but useful tools to describe complex experiences ppl have. So if someone seems to be using contradictory labels, I just assume they’re trying to communicate a very specific experience that we don’t have good language for yet. “Bi lesbian” doesn’t make a lot of sense to me based on like. Root definitions. But if someone wants to call themselves that I’m gonna support them bc they’re the expert on their own experiences

Also with the bi lesbian thing specifically, basically all the arguments I’ve seen seem to use the same exclusionary rhetoric that aphobes and transmeds/truscum use so I realllllly don’t agree w/ em lmao

I tried to stick close to your art for the homemade and classic/main suit design, but took some liberties on the symbiote suit. I noticed you mentioned that the design was inspired by Gwenom so I chose to lean into that a little more with the serrated hood, which becomes more literal teeth in the full blown symbiote form. I also extended that web mask down to meet the spider on the chest. I also made a point to keep JJ's main suit more cyan and magenta-ish while the symbiote suit is a more pallid pink to evoke the fleshy mouth look I think you were going for. I also tried to add some subtle claws to the symbiote suit to make it feel a little more different from the basic suit. Having the white of the claws stretch further along the arm when the symbiote is in control seemed like a nice touch to show how the potential for violence is dominating the design.

Also made the chest emblem more resemble the traditional venom/black suit logo, mostly because I really like drawing it.

Anyway, hope you like this, Cherry! It was a blast to draw :p

I AM MORE THAN COMFORTABLE SHARING

Some context, my fic takes place in 1204 Constantinople, so the Dread Powers are 800 years divorced from when and how we see them. It’s the fear of wild animals, societal collapse, humans no longer being the dominant species. The Wild is all but extinct in the modern age, as my fic shows the last avatar of The Untamed Beast lose herself and her power to The Hunt.

It’s like a blend of The Hunt and The Extinction. The avatar, Ata, has been alive for 600 years, acting as a Gertrude Robinson, destroying rituals as they happen. She’s got nature magic and passively rots and overgrows any man-made structure she’s near.

As the sole avatar of The Wild, she directly feels all the fear, and just wants her patron to live as long as possible before being consumed by The Hunt. The plot of the fic is her and a young Vast avatar trying to stop Beholding’s ritual, Judgement. Coming to Ao3 this 2022. Hopefully.

Seven months later, Henry stood in front of the newly minted Joey Drew Studios. He’d quit his office job and decided to join Joey in launching a cartoon studio. It was a bit like jumping out of a plane without a parachute, but Joey seemed to know what he was doing, and Henry found it hard to be all that worried when faced with the man’s optimism. 

At the very least, it promised to be busy. Busy was good, as far as Henry was concerned. Busy meant less time to think, less time to worry. Now, the only thing he had to worry about was bringing cartoons to movie theaters around the country. The little devil Henry had designed, that Joey had dubbed Bendy, was the mascot for the new studio and its star. It only made sense that the character that had brought the two men together should be featured in such a way.

Joey had agreed to be the public face of the Studio, to do the press tours and talk to the public, without too much questioning. The last thing Henry wanted right now was attention. He just wanted to hole himself up and draw, and work towards their shared dreams. Over and over, he drew Bendy, the little devil skipping and whistling and laughing as their first cartoon short came together. The little guy had such joy and energy, and Henry just knew that people were gonna fall in love with him. The Studio was already so much better than the office Henry had worked for before, and it was only getting started.

After listening to the new tape, I had a thought about what the new bendy game might be called - Bendy and the Dark Records? The tapes have been promoting batdr, and in the newest tape Sammy mentions "all this knowledge." It feels like we've been going through some sort of archives to get these tapes. The "Dark" bit is just a stab at a 4-letter d word but I feel like "Records" could be accurate

confession: before i started listening to taz i thought the umbrastaff was some sort of epic interstellar magic staff (since umbra is a space term and whatnot) and was mildly confused at any taako fanart with this weird umbrella. needless to say i was very surprised when i started listening and he finally found it

the original definition was “shadow” or “darkness” so taako’s “umbrastaff” should be a “staff of darkness” which is way cooler but instead it’s just an umbrella that vores ghosts
