lennon was more than ready to get on the plan and travel back to the normalcy of her life that revolved around staying in one place again. it all seemed to good to be true, especially when her phone went off and sent her in the direction of her dear friend ches. “hey ches.” she greeted her with a smile before letting herself get lost in her thoughts. they hadn’t spoken in longer than she liked, the chaos of all things involving the crusade distracting them both. “how have you been? are you and elliot doing alright?” with that question all she could think about was the decision she made back in the gym — the one where she picked balo instead. “how is he? that stupid night keeps giving me major circle flashbacks —” she paused, knowing what she was supposed to do at this moment. the blonde couldn’t do it, lying to put herself back into the spot she fought so hard to dig herself out of, she couldn’t. it had taken her so long to get certain people to believe in her again and with so many eyes and ears on them in the airport it was impossible to lie and put herself in that position again. “it was horrible then and i feel like it’s going to be worse now...the threats keep getting worse.”
“So, I got you something!” Ches sits down next to Lennon, sliding her a box containing a diamond necklace. “I thought it was cute. We do need to go on another shopping spree after the holidays though, I’ll pay - that’s the other part of your present. I thought about just filling up your room with designer clothes, but I really need some girl time.”
On Christmas Eve, Balo showed up with gifts for Lennon. A few dresses she made for her friend, and a gift certificate to one of her favorite coffee shops.”Merry Christmas, Lenny! I have another gift for you, but, it’s still stuck in customs so hopefully, it’ll be here soon.” It was unfortunate, but, what was she to do? This was one malfunction out of her control.
