Robots, machines, if you build it, you own it, and no amount of advanced AI can change the fact that they’e built to serve and built to follow orders. Their emotions? Programmed. Personalities? Emulations. Drives and ambitions? Objectives. They’re no more human than a rock is alive. 

That and Bass did something stupid again, he knows it in his core. That darn robot.
