I’m lowkey kinda surprised they haven’t become the next Niche-to-Popular Internet Animal™️ yet. Also kinda glad… heh that means I can keep these little freaks to myself (I jest).
Cool Chevrotain Facts:
• They are also known as mouse deer, despite not being deer at all! (They belong to the family Tragulidae, not Cervidae like true deer)
• They are the smallest known hoofed animal
• They have tusks instead of antlers or horns, they are much longer and more noticeable in males
