CHEZ PIERRE 🇫🇷❤️ // A French favourite in Perth. They do a rotating regional set menu for aud65pp on Tuesdays to Fridays and the current theme is Tour de France. Last night’s menu was week 3: Andorre-la-Vielle – Saint-Emillion. First course: Tarte aux Noix de Saint-Jacques Scallop tart, seared Shark Bay scallops served on creamed leeks and a crispy puff pastry tartlet, accompanied with spinach, asparagus, confit tomatoes, parsley coulis and finished with a dill beurre blanc sauce. Scallops were seared beautifully, paired with the crispy puff pastry and rich butter sauce. I didn’t even notice or mind the dill in the sauce. Just divine. Their imported French baguette bread is one of my favourite bread in Perth. We ordered escargots and Crepe Suzette on top of the regional set menu. Service here is exemplary as always - they even gifted an extra container of bread for us to take home after we asked to take away our leftover bread. DUCK 🇫🇷 // Confit de Canard, Sauce à l’Orange: Salted and confit duck leg, slowly cooked in duck fat over eight hours and served with creamy pomme purée, butter, sautéed veal and chicken boudin blanc and orange glazed baby heirloom carrots, and finished with a classic orange and Grand Marnier sauce and lime sorbet (palate cleanser); part of our aud65pp (duck: ala carte aud39.50) three course dinner from Chez Pierre, Nedlands. They were also very accommodating in substituting the lambs mains to this duck mains. One of my favourites. LAMB 🇫🇷 // Croupe d’agneau roti: roasted & marinated tender Amelia park lamb, served pink with a winter Jerusalem artichoke puree, salted and roasted artichokes, grilled courgette & finished with a red wine & thyme jus; part of our aud65pp three course dinner from Chez Pierre, Nedlands. Tried a bit of this and it is so good. Not normally a fan of lamb due to the gamey smell which was why I had asked for a main substitute at the time of our booking. Turns out I should have probably stuck to the lamb on the original menu as it was beautifully tender and there was none of the gamey smell. FLAVOURS OF FRANCE: LIMOGES 🇫🇷 // Entrée: Crêpes aux Fruits de Mer – Seafood Crêpe, filled with fresh local Prawns, Scallops, Fish, leeks and mushrooms in a garlic, onion and parsley soubise sauce encased in a savoury crêpe topped with a light bercy sauce, spinach and gratinée with Fromage under the grill (aud23 ala carte) or part of the three-course dinner for aud65 at Chez Pierre, Nedlands - one of my favourite French restaurants in Perth. They do a rotating regional menu every Tuesday-Friday at aud65 pp which is quite good value. Dish of the night - soft layers of Crêpes enveloped the flavoursome, creamy seafood and mushrooms. SO DELICIOUS I hadn’t even bothered to photograph the inside of the crepes using the camera. Did the video using the phone (check stories under 🇫🇷 highlight) and just couldn’t wait to finish everything. FLAVOURS OF FRANCE: LIMOGES 🇫🇷 // Three-course dinner for aud65; with a bottle of Brown Brothers Riesling (aud36) at Chez Pierre, Nedlands - one of my favourite French restaurants in Perth. They do a rotating regional menu every Tuesday-Thursday at aud65 pp which is quite good value. The bread here deserves their own special mention - it is soft and fluffy and crispy on the edges yet not burnt. So good. We started off with the asparagus veloute which was creamy, smooth and so delicious. Wiped everything clean with the bread too. The Brown Brothers Riesling was sweet and so easy to drink - good recommendation from our server when we asked for something sweet. Will get this from the bottle shop next time (aud12) and pay for the BYO (aud10.50 per bottle). Love the friendly service here and how they catered for our dietary requirements and dessert substitute - got three calls confirming our menu after my booking.
