LA BASTIDE 🇫🇷 // Dinner last night celebrating a friend’s birthday at newly-opened La Bastide @labastide.perth in Shenton Park (place where Petit Mort used to be). Menu on last two pics. We ordered the following: - St Germain Spritz $21 - Croquette-monsieurs, dijon, cornichons $18 - Parfait de canard maison, rosella, brioche (gfo) $24; extra serve of brioche $8 - Wagin farm magret de canard, pommes dauphinoise, chard, sauce piquante $42 - Market fish (rankin cod) à la grenobloise, rainbow petites carottes, cresson $42 - Duck leg special $38 - Pommes dauphinoise side $14 - Bay crème brûlée $18 Started with a refreshing St Germain Spritz which was so easy to drink. St‑Germain is a French liqueur made with fresh elderflowers, hand-picked once a year in the late spring. Standout dish was the market fish. Duck breast was very tender but surprisingly the skin was not as crispy as it looked or I had expected - heard Rob Broadfield raved about this place so admittedly I did had very high expectations for the duck. The chard that came with the duck was very heavily seasoned. The parfait is a very light version and preferred the brioche over the parfait. Bay creme brûlée had a thin crystallised sugar top and the custard beneath was creamy, cool and smelt strongly of cinnamon and spice. Very friendly waitstaff with lovely service from the owners. #LaBastide #Perth #PerthFrench #PerthFood #PerthFoodReview #PFR_French #PFR_LaBastide (at La Bastide Bistro) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoRVawkvhYY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
