ANY DINING 🍴❤️ // throwback to our birthday dinner with my girlfriends at @any.perth - delicious food and cocktails (Davidson Plum & Jasmine $23). We ordered the following: - Duck Liver Parfait. Black Sesame. Sherry. Lemon Myrtle. $22 - Local Fish. Venus Clams. Peas. Lemongrass. Parsley. $42 - Pork Neck. Sumac. Parsnip. Rhubarb. $42 - Grilled Greens. Crispy Shallot Butter. Lime. $14 - Potato. Brown Butter. Lemon. $11 Love how delicious and well-balanced the dishes were. There was a thoughtful acidic component in the parfait entree and potato side to counter with the richness. Will be back and on the list of ‘special occasion restaurants’ to visit in Perth. Throwback to our aud63pp two-course set menu meal from Storehouse, Subiaco @storehousesubiaco @vibesubiaco (visited Oct ‘21). Entrée: - Roasted caulifiower, quinoa, soy pepitas, pomegranate, feta - Ocean trout, avocado, pickled beetroot, onion, crouton - Dandaragan organic beef tartare, cured yolk, black garlic, salt bush MAINS - Pan-fried gnocchi, creamed mushrooms, herbs - Pork shoulder char siu, shiitake mushrooms, sesame - Pan-fried market Fish (trout), miso eggplant, smoked mussels, macadamia crumb, avruga ADD SIDES - Duck fat potatoes, herbs $14 - Mixed leaf salad, pickled shallots, radish, honey mustard $14 - Pan fried mixed mushrooms, spinach, potato $16 Beautiful, spacious venue and interiors where you could watch the sun set here on level 9 with sweeping rooftop views. Found the portions quite generous for the price. Preferred the trout for entrée and pork for mains. Some components for mains and entrées overlapped one another. MARGARET RIVER // Our MIKI’S COMPLETE dinner; aud85pp from Miki’s Open Kitchen, Margaret River. Was nice to have experienced this for the first time - loved the open plan kitchen and watching the chefs in action right in front of us. The standouts were the duck; mains of pork katsu and kangaroo - I’ve not had kangaroo cooked so well before (wasn’t tough at all) and the fulfilling charcoal ramen noodle. Our group set menu (groups of six and above must get this): two courses aud65pp (shared entrées & one mains) or aud80pp three courses lunch from Millbrook Winery, Jarrahdale. Standouts were the pate, ham, octopus, potato side and desserts - strawberry parfait and chocolate cake. Didn’t have the other desserts as they misheard us ordering one of each. Generous portions for the braised rabbit and pig trotters polenta. Mains this time were not as good as the previous visit last year - pity the pork shoulder was overcooked while the cured cod carpaccio was quite fishy. We didn’t know how to appreciate the raw and fermented vegetables with cottage cheese. Enjoyed the picturesque location and we were really lucky with the beautiful sunshine and pretty clouds.
