Creamed Chicken Over Biscuits Ingredients: 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 small onion, diced 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Salt and pepper, to taste 1/2 cup chicken stock 1 1/2 cups half-and-half (or whole milk or heavy cream) 1 teaspoon dried tarragon 1/2 cup peas 1 pound cooked chicken, diced or shredded 8 homemade or store-bought biscuits Directions: In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions become translucent and begin to brown, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the flour, seasoning with salt and pepper. Mix until the flour blends with the butter to form a paste. Slowly pour in the chicken stock, stirring constantly until well-blended with the flour mixture. Gradually add the half-and-half, stirring until fully incorporated. Raise the heat slightly and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Add the dried tarragon, peas, and cooked chicken to the sauce, and continue to cook until the chicken and peas are warmed through. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Making Chicken and Biscuits in the slow cooker is so easy and delicious! This comforting meal is perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends. The chicken becomes tender and flavorful as it cooks low and slow, and the biscuits bake up perfectly on top, creating a hearty and satisfying dish.
Ingredients: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup. 1 cup chicken broth. 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion powder. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 can refrigerated biscuits.
Instructions: Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker. In a bowl, mix together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the chicken. Add frozen mixed vegetables on top. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. About 30 minutes before serving, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker. Cut each biscuit into quarters and place them on top of the chicken mixture in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and golden brown.
