"I'm in no mood for your nonsense, Eulalie," snapped Arcturus.
"Then you're lucky I came on such urgent and serious business."
This banter was super cute. I did not go into this chapter expecting to ship the grandparents..but I do lol Arcturus needs someone to keep him company, so he isn’t so grumpy.
I could see Colette being into making this happen and Sirius super super not. LOL.
Did Bellatrix truly think that Cygnus would kill Andromeda? I mean, she seems so entirely convinced and feels betrayed that he didn’t.
She herself didn't have the guts to kill her sister, so stones through glass houses...
If Cygnus knew what Bella was up to, would he chase her down and bring her home?
Unfortunately Cygnus believes that the moment Bellatrix married Rod she became her husband's responsibility. He has opinions about how Lestrange is handling the job but he basically accepts it's beyond his power to do much to curb his daughter's impulses...
I wonder if when Walburga was pregnant with Sirius if she initially imagined him to be a little Orion. Well behaved, quiet and obviously looking exactly like his handsome Father.
*Sirius breech in his Mum's womb, hopping up and down on her bladder*: She has one thing right!
She absolutely wanted him to be a mini Orion lol. She may wish her husband were a bit more forthcoming at times, but quiet and appeasing are desirable traits in a son that she can control and keep on her desired path. At least she got what she wanted in terms of looks if not personality. She'd hex whoever pointed out that his stubborn nature and filthy temper are directly inherited from her, though.
I've often thought that surely they named him Sirius because of the connection between the constellations of Sirius and Orion. No doubt they were hoping that naming him after the dog of the hunter would persuade fate to give them a son loyally obedient to his father and the life expected of him. Oh well, they tried xD
I love the headcanon idea of Sirius being a breech birth. Tormenting his mother unnecessarily right from the start xD
I love the scene in the prompt your wrote about Sirius' first birthday, where Alphard explains to Walburga what a rattle is lol So sweet and wholesome.
It was actually Orion, but the sentiment still stands. Alphard is the only member of this family who saw the sense in gifting a one-year-old an age-appropriate toy instead of framed artwork and books that weigh more than him xD
At their sister’s wedding I imagine Alphard and Cygnus were amused to see that she was indeed a “blushing bride”. Also, Bellatrix and Andromeda as flower girls!
One never would have expected that Walburga was capable of such a thing xD
lol Bellatrix the flower girl is a hilarious concept. Scowling furiously at being made to wear such a frilly flouncy dress.
Has Sirius realized just how much Walburga and Orion love him yet?
That would be too easy, wouldn't it?
