So Much Going on at the Theater in the Wood!

It’s that time of year again when we have so many things going on, it’s hard to keep track of them all!  If you are looking for some family fun, please make sure to check out the Theater in the Wood as we have some great events coming up! First up this week, the Children’s Theater Series focuses on a tale as old as time as our BIBYT Campers perform, Beauty & the Beast.  The performance will be held at the Theater in the Wood today, July 15th at 4:15 pm.  Doors will open at 4:00 pm with concessions available for purchase for the audience.  All net proceeds raised supports our Believe in Books Youth Theatre Programs!  Online reservations are required and there is a $5 suggested donation per ticket.   Second, the Sunset Concert Series begins this week!  We are so excited to be offering this 11-week music series and we have so many great bands joining the lineup throughout the summer.  First up tomorrow, Friday, July 16th, the Adam Ezra Group takes center stage in the Theater in the Wood!  We are sold out of Premium Tickets at this time but there are still a few General Admission Tickets available.  Doors for Adam Ezra Group open at 7:00 pm with the performance beginning at 7:30 pm.  Popcorn, beer, wine, and water will be available to purchase!   Finally, the Believe in Books Youth Theatre Camp is still going on daily!  Registration is open for the last two camp sessions featuring the stories of Alice in Wonderland and The Legend of Hercules.  Alice in Wonderland is a two-week session beginning on August 2nd and running through August 13th.  The Legend of Hercules is an intensive one-week camp for kids 12 and older, which BIBLF’s former Theater Manager, Nate Sawyer will return to direct! Children’s Theater Series Starts Next Week!

One week from today, on Thursday, July 1st at 4:15 pm, our Children’s Summer Theater Series begins!  Join us every other Thursday throughout the Summer at the Theater in the Wood to enjoy a special performance put on by our Believe in Books Youth Theater kiddos! Up first, the story of a little mermaid who longs to walk above shore with the man she loves in “The Little Mermaid.”  Doors will open at 4:00 pm with the performance beginning at 4:15 pm.  Each performance has a suggested donation of $5.00 per person and an online reservation is required for all guests. As we move further into the Summer, we look forward to incredible performances of Beauty & the Beast (Thursday, July 15th), Tarzan: King of the Jungle (Thursday, July 29th), Alice in Wonderland (Thursday, August 12th), and of course The Legend of Hercules (Friday, August 20th). Each show will be performed by our Youth Theater Campers!   We are looking for a few more volunteers to help us make popcorn for some of these shows!  If you are interested in volunteering or reserving spots to any of these fun shows, visit www.believeinbooks.org.

Another Great Show Tomorrow!

We are so excited for another fantastic Children’s Theater performance tomorrow at 5:00 pm! The classic tale of the puppet, Pinocchio, comes to life at the Theater in the Wood.  The Believe in Books Youth Theatre camp kids have been working hard all week learning their lines and practicing their dance moves.   Doors for the performance will open at 4:30 pm.  Tickets are $5 a piece and must be purchased in advance as we will not be accepting any payments at the door.  The previous shows have been sold out so you will want to make sure to buy your tickets as early as possible.  Also, we want to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the performance so we are requiring masks to be worn when you enter, move about, and exit the Theater in the Wood.  Guests are permitted to remove their masks only when they are seated.  Believe in Books staff and volunteers are also taking additional safety measures while seating groups to ensure social distancing.   We appreciate everyone following the rules and look forward to continuing these amazing performances for the duration of our Summer Camps. Children’s Summer Theater Series Returns!

With the summer in full swing, BIBLF is proud to present the return of the Children’s Summer Theater Series at the Theater in the Wood.  This Summer, each show will be performed by our Believe in Books Youth Theatre Camp kiddos.  The culmination performance each week may be enjoyed beginning tomorrow, Friday, July 10th at 5:00 pm.  

Tickets are only $5 per person and must be purchased online in advance to the show.  There are limited capacities at each performance due to CDC and State guidelines so it is important to purchase your tickets as early as possible to guarantee entry.  We will not be accepting any cash at the doors of the performance unless restrictions lighten as the Summer continues.  

Each week, guests may enjoy a unique take on a classic fairytale!  The lineup begins with the story of Peter Pan, and is followed by the tales of the Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Snow White, Aladdin, Cinderella, and the Wizard of Oz.
