Ok your ask sent me down a rabbit hole and I committed to a complete role swap for this shitpost. Full blown AU.

Rosie Wensley-Banner [the Scarlet Starlet] is a horny healing bard from a long line of English witches in service of the church, so Kuro in this role...is the horny poison bard from a long line of cursed chemists serving as the royal apothecary. The Mahogany Miasma, civilian name Humbert Blackbane [Lolita reference like Rosie's title, and an English plague]. Nickname Umber, or Bert if you want to commit sudoku. Still the same hobo-military sense of fashion also. Rosie's 60s type shit translated to Beatles Sgt Pepper undertones.

Kuro/Okami is an inugami-possessed oni, who wreaked havoc near the end of the warring states era and sought only to have children and a loving pack. Rosie in this role...is the plucky nekomata, Tsubakineko [Literally, "camellia cat".] Nickname Cammie. More or less a gentle catgirl with a mischievous streak, she was denied any human friends or partners and other yokai considered her too weak and stupid to join forces. In the modern era, catgirls are highly coveted so she has to fight people off, which gives the impression that she's a monster to target.

It would be far more wholesome this way though. Rosie is just a pure soul in any incarnation so she would probably get folded into the heroes' group immediately because she's lonely. Galahad and Umber constantly scuffle over muh catgirl gf. Soraya still has a gay crush and she still hates spooky bastard, double so now that Cammie's in the picture and warming up to Umber. Alicia is 200% done from the get-go but is very protective of Cammie.

The wedding isn't secret and they continue life normally. If the roles are swapped here then this might be the AU where Kanna is the only one with powers.

Almost all problems in Sins of the Father stem from the father, so that's unchanged. He's still fairly unhinged, only now the mind poison is literal rather than metaphorical. Midas type beat. Except the hero team stays in touch, so now the girls have aunts and an uncle to confide in. They gon fuckin need it too.

Kuu eats humans but doesn't kill what she eats, so what would she do if she came across a hiker?

Kuu, as the expression of Gluttony, can eat endlessly and never be full, because the contents of her mouth never make it to her stomach. There is a pocket dimension in the back of her throat, so nothing is ever digested or used for energy. This leads her to eat both regular food and inanimate objects, because to her they have the same nutritional value of zero. Her inability to absorb nutrients keeps her from growing, so she is still developmentally a baby. She's immortal, she's a yokai, but she's a baby. Aside from her black hole power she can walk a little and babble.

She will eat what is given to her, but she can't "kill" anyone and she can't leave the house by herself. If you see her in the woods, Keane and Sakura are definitely nearby. They will be the ones to kill you and after Keane has picked through your belongings they'll pass them to Kuu to munch on between her typical forest snacks of leaves, snails, and tree bark.

If you end up in Kuu's pocket dimension and don't get out you could probably starve to death, but Kuu being a baby spits up random shit all the time, so you'll probably be fine. Probably. Her running gag [pun intended] is frequently spitting out useful objects. Sometimes you gotta make her though...

Riddle does indeed have a larger form, as he’s an oni! When he gets terribly, horribly angry, he’ll become much more demonic! And huge. He’s one of your physically strongest familiars, easily the top among his group and all your familiars, even in his smaller form. The Heartslabyul boys take extra care not to anger him, so they usually defer to his command when you aren’t present to give orders. While he does yell a lot, it’ll take very dire circumstances for his larger form to appear.

Oni are more battle-orientated youkai, with a penchant for dependence. They tend to be a bit childish and hard to reason with once they’ve established their stance on something (Riddle’s rules in this case), unless you’re bribing them with their favorite things.

In best case scenarios, their masters are their “favorite thing”! Riddle can easily be bribed/tricked into doing most things (ex: dismissing blatant transgressions, retracting punishments, etc.)  when there’s a reward in it from you. In worst case scenarios, where their master has passed away, they’ll turn to substances (ex: alcohol, like in most stories about oni) or even bloodshed and violence for that reward. Otherwise, an oni with a master is extremely well-behaved, though they expect the same good behavior from their fellow familiars...

Junji Ito's Frankenstein is a great adaptation that was ruined for me by an insignificant and very specific detail: the Monster eating an animal in front of Victor's unnerved face. The Monster supposedly not needing to eat meat was a detail that I loved in the book because it made him look like an "upgraded" human, without the need to kill to survive. But human prejudice made him choose evil. Then Junji Ito discarded that in favour of cheap gore and i couldn't enjoy the manga as much lol.

Fair enough!  It didn’t bother me, but it is an interesting symbolic departure.
