Natural Born Curlers of Chilly Beach
Deep in the recesses of Canada and early oughts Flash animation comes Chilly Beach. This webshow about a Canadian "resort" town located on an icy tundra way up north made the leap to full on CBC show, which is admirable, but it still has the look, voice acting and writing of a Flash e-card.
They did an episode on curling. When a local Scotsman takes over ice duties on the hockey rink, he turns it into a pristine sheet of curling ice. He invites his family out from Scotland to revel in his creation, but soon remembers why he left home to begin with. The local hockey goofs aren't too keen on curling, but reluctantly get drawn into a match at the risk of losing limbs. It's pretty funny, and you can forgive them for not getting a lot of the curling details right because they get to the heart of it. The fact that the Scotsman shoots off his shotgun when the hockey goofs are about to play on his "sacred ice for a sacred game" pretty much nails it. Watch the episode for yourself.
