This small tree is a highly prized garden addition, due to its great aesthetic qualities. It grows in the zones 5 through 9, so it easily can flourish in our zone. This tree usually doesn’t get higher than around 20 feet in height, while also not exceeding around 20-25 feet across.
This tree blossoms in the spring, with some beautiful white flowers that resemble drooping boomerangs or even water droplets. These cluster and form beautiful white groups of flower that dot the tree. I will award this tree highly for its flowering capabilities, earning a 8 our of 10.
Landscape uniqueness: (1-3) 3
Hence the name, it is native to Asian, primarily China, where it was brought over as an import. This tree enjoys area’s with plenty of sun and plenty of water, if you own one domestically they require watering to keep alive. Through my research on how well this wood would function as a building material, I have found that it is a hardwood, but there is very little information in regards to working the wood, assuming its primary use is that of decoration, the use of cultivation for wood seems wrong. I will give it s 2 out of 10 for build qualities.
