Have you eaten chitterlings?
Yes, and I enjoy them
Yes, and I dislike them
No, but I want to try them
No, and I don’t want to try them.
In case you’re unaware, chitterlings (AKA chitlins) are a southern US dish of cooked pig intestines - sometimes the intestines of other animals.
It is meant to honor African American ancestors who did what they could to make a special meal from the scraps they got.
Chitlins is gone. we got to stay with him til the very end, and i got to hold him on the ride home and while my dad dug the grave. we buried him underneath the huge cherry tree in our back yard, wrapped in a blanket and the t shirt my dad wore today that Chitlins cuddled up on as soon as we had layed it in the carrier before leaving for the vet. i took a few pictures of him while we waited for the appointment
i know im black and ppl might hate me for this but i will NEVER eat chitlins
that is some over the top 1960s coon clownery right there i do NOT play that
I think my favorite southern activity is asking people not from the area if they know what “chitlins” are.

Sorry, but this is NOT a heart healthy snack!
