5up: Time for plan G.
Steve: Don’t you mean plan B?
5up: No, we tried plan B a long time ago. I had to skip over plan C due to technical difficulties.
Hafu: What about plan D?
5up: Plan D was that desperate disguise attempt half an hour ago.
Apollo: What about plan E?
5up: I’m hoping not to use it. Janet dies in plan E.
dk: I like plan E.
How to make real life versions of Yo-kai's favorite candy: Chocobars. In this video, I will teach you how to make plain, strawberry, and premium chocobars.
Yo-Kai Watch and Chocobars are property of Nintendo. The recipe is below! Watch it in action here.
What you need:
For Chocobars:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil
For Strawberry Chocobars
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil
2 TBL freeze-dried strawberries
A drop of pink gel color
For Premium Chocobars:
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter chips
1 tsp coconut oil, separated
For chocobars: In a small bowl, melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Nuke for 30 second intervals, stirring after every session. When chocolate is liquid, add coconut oil. Pour into desired chocolate mold or parchment lined sheet. Freeze for 1 hour or until set. Wrap in orange foil if desired.
For strawberry chocobars: In a small coffee or spice grinder, pulverize freeze-dried strawberries until they are dust. Melt white chocolate as you melted the other chocolate. Add coconut oil. Stir in strawberries and optional food coloring. Place in molds and freeze for 1 hour or until set.
For Premium chocobars: In a small bowl, melt peanut butter chips like the chocolate chips. Once it’s liquid, add half of the coconut oil. Repeat with the regular chocolate chips. Pour in your chocolate into your desired molds. Top with melted peanut butter chips in a swirl motion, stir with a chopstick to make a swirl effect.
If I could just have Chocobo and never be able to eat American candy bars ever again, I would be 100% okay with this. I would have no objections.
Jibanyan no Chocobo Premium is here, AKA Jibanyan's Premium Chocobars.
They're the best thing since ... well, the original Chocobo. They're amazing. Chocobo is my favorite candy now.
(I'll be referring to them as "Chocobars" from here on out for the sake of the dub-only readers.)
Unlike the original Chocobars, the "premium" version is dipped in chocolate. Delicious, creamy chocolate. That's the only thing that makes them different from their original counterpart, save for pretty, shiny foil wrappers.
What do they taste like? I've been asked this before, and it's honestly hard to describe.
Take a bunch of rice krispies and dip them in chocolate, then mold them into a bar shape. That's a Chocobar.
They don't remind me of any candy that we have here in the USA. My first thought would to say they're like a crunch bar in texture, but they're not. They're rice puffs with chocolate on them made into a candy bar, then dunked in chocolate. That still doesn't describe them properly to me. I care that much about this candy.
They're delicious, that's all you need to know.
As soon as you open the wrapper, you can smell the rich chocolate before even seeing the bar. It's a very pleasant smell that just makes me want to tear into it that much faster. The first bite is always the best--that first chocolate-y crunch just fills your entire mouth.
There are only so many ways I can say "Candy good. Me like." without coming off as repetitive, so I'll leave it at that. I'll post the eBay link where I normally buy Chocobo from, but remember that eBay listings expire or change. The seller, market_tokyo, has other Yo-kai Watch snack foods for sale as well, so definitely check them out.
