Hershey just transitioned to the other side. She spent her last moments laying out in the grass before coming in and taking her last breathes. Well, just got off the phone with Hershey's oncologist and the new items on the CT scan are not cancer. They are, however, some type of fungal or bacterial infection that has set in her lungs. They can not operate while this is the case, so they are putting her on 2 weeks of antibiotics. Well I came back from the morning hunt to find Hershey in the throws of heatstroke. She was panting heavily, severe salivating, staggering, trying to splash water on herself, restless and her tongue was really red. I tried to cool her off with water but finally threw her in the truck at max A/C. I was lucky to get her temperature down but she threw up a seriously foul vomit all over the interior of my truck. I guess it is time for Hershey to retire.
