I can confirm, this is how I play now with MAYBE a setup move if I don't have a choice item. I used to think the choice items were bad because they'd restrict you to one move and I didn't really understand the stat differences either Attack/Sp back then. But now? God I can fully harness the power of Bidoof 😈

As a generalized Pokemon and competitive focused statement: anything whose best counter is itself is a problem. This goes for Lando-T and Scarf in particular now, and we know it's a problem because we've seen it in Dragon types. Remember the days before Fairy type? Every team just picked a Dragon, probably Dragonite because of the sick ability, and just Outraged until the opponent died. And nothing stopped you because the only good counter to Dragon was Dragon, and whoever got the Dragon Dance boost first won. Any competitive element whose best answer is itself will inevitably spiral until everything needs to use it, because being your own best counter effectively means nothing else was doing a good job.
