dragon pokemon ahoy
Team Rocket stopping Dragonite with a frying pan foretold Steel types' resistance to Dragon type moves.
wip of some of my dragon pokes Chrono and Highwind
Maybe it’s because I grew up reading WoF and being obsessed with dragons as a kid, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when a series or franchise calls something a dragon when it isn’t.
A dragon has four legs and two wings,
A drake has four legs and no wings,
A lung dragon has four legs, no wings and a very long body,
A Lindwurm has two legs and no wings,
And Amphithere has no legs and two wings,
A wyrm has no legs and no wings,
Of course there’s like a million sub species, but PLEASE guys it takes like a two minute google search!! Literally I typed in “types of dragons” and this chart was one of the first to come up. Idk why it peeves me so much but anytime somebody gets it wrong it’s like.. cmon man what the freak 😔 Maybe this is a niche pet peeve, maybe I’m just neurodivergent idk 🫠🫶🏻🌿
Ok but like birds and nonavian dinosaurs are kinda dragons tho?

2: Dragon Types
2.2: Aqunda Dragons
Aqunda dragons draw their power from spring and the element of water. They generally have cool coloured scales and are medium-small in sizing when it comes to other dragons. Shaping-wise, they have smooth, flowing forms and long bodies. Their horns are wavy and tend to be longer, can be either rounded or sharp at the end.
The diet of your average aqunda dragon includes fish, crustaceans, and aquatic plants. They eat their food raw and enjoy juicy food.
There are four types of aqunda dragons: water, rainbow, seadragons, and sea serpents.
Water Dragons:
Breathweapon: Water, beam shape
Size: Medium, 4.32m wingspan, 1.8m shoulder height, 3.24m snout to tail-tip
Appearance: Colours vary from deep purple to blue to sea green, webbed talons, gills, small tail fins, and cool toned eyes
Additional Abilities: Webbed talons and tail fins for swimming, gills
Eggs: 40cm widest, deep blue
Rainbow Dragons:
Breathweapon: Light energy, ball shape
Size: Medium-small, 4.08m wingspan, 1.7m shoulder height, 3.06m snout to tail-tip
Appearance: Scales come in a wide range of bright colours, usually cooler in tone but can be warmer too, white or blue underbellies and wings
Additional Abilities: Scales can shift in colour at will, gills, webbed talons and tail fins for swimming
Eggs: 40cm widest, light yellow or white with bright flecks, faint glow
Rainbow dragons are a species which originated as a hybrid species of water and light dragons, but eventually differentiated into their own species
Note: the rainbow dragons don't pulse rainbow colours per se, that was just for fun to illustrate the colour changing ability
Seadragons:
Breathweapon: Water, beam shape
Size: Medium-small, 1.3m shoulder height, 4m snout to tail-tip
Appearance: Long, serpentine bodies with short legs designed for swimming. Scales can be green, cyan, turquoise, and occasionally indigo or dark purple, with cool toned eyes
Additional Abilities/Traits: Fully aquatic, webbed talons and fins (instead of wings), gills, powerful tail fins, can (magically) manipulate water around them to create bubbles of water or air
Eggs: 35cm widest, pearlescent shells, more spherical shape
Sea serpents:
Breathweapon: Scalding water, beam shape
Size: Large, 7m main wingspan, 4m lesser wingspan, 2m body diameter, 18m snout to tail-tip
Appearance: Long, snake-like dragon with several sets of smaller wings designed for swimming instead of flying, blue or aquamarine scales in varying shades and tints, legless, eyes are cool tones
Additional Abilities/Traits: Small fin-like wings and tail fins for swimming, gills
Eggs: 70cm widest, deep blue (same as water dragon)
