This is what I call contemporary art, memes that shake the world of the internet. You’d think memes would be just some popular thing for a month, memes have been around for about 14 years now. First memes were introduced on YouTube as a video of popular images on the internet. At that point, no one would think that these sort of image edits would become so popular. Scrolling through any social media nowadays you’re bound to see memes. It’s not just me who thinks memes are a genre of pop art. It’s popular and it’s art, these memes can be made by anyone. It’s an art form and apparently “Memeology” can now be studied at several Universities around the world; to me, it seems amazing and mad at the same time.

The meme itself originated from....Naruto. Naruto being an anime, very popular anime actually. The original came from an episode of Naruto where Sasuke (the character being choked) is confronted by his brother, on the memes he’s being choked by Josh Peck from “Drake and Josh”, Peppa Pig and Gordon Ramsay. This meme has to be the most popular of all the different memes shared in 2019!
