Corythosaurus Common name: 'Duck Billed' Dinosaur Size: up to 9 m (30 ft) long Age: Upper Cretaceous (77 – 75.7 million years ago) Geographic range: North America Liked: Chatting Disliked: Swimming Taxonomy: Animalia > Chordata > Dinosauria > Ornithischia > Hadrosauridae Affectionately known as the 'Duck Billed Dinosaur', this big herbivore was a communicator. It had a large, bony crest on its head, which amplified its voice, and well-developed ears adapted for hearing low sounds, which allowed to to hear about as well as a modern crocodile (... quite well!). The shape of its scull meant that it would have had a low voice, and differences in the shape of the bony crest on its skull meant that different species of Corythosaur would have had distinctive calls. Its loud voice and good hearing might have allowed groups of Corythosaurs to warn each other of predators, let each other know about food, plot their escape from Jurassic park, and plan to take over the world... you know, dinosaur things. We know a remarkable amount about Corythosaurus, because we have a lot of very well preserved fossils. Some even have the remnants of the dinosaur's last meal in its stomach - conifer needles, seeds, twigs and fruits. Despite all these skeletons, scientists once thought that Corythosaurus was at least partly aquatic, because it appeared to have webbed feet. It turned out that this 'webbing' was actually 'padding', and that Corythosaurus is actually more of a long-distance runner than a swimmer. - OB Images: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/冠龍屬 https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Corythosaurus_Hendrickx2.jpg
Commander Katabasis's "encouragement"
Chorda Katabasis?
Okay so! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back I had a funny inside joke relating to one of my fics where Dedf1sh was implied to be the commander of the octo girls group.
However as of Side Order, I scrapped that since the Dedf1sh in my head and au was DEF not gonna be like the canon one.
So! I created Chorda! Or, Chord. She is the character replacement of that role in the octo girls's lives.
She was once a very skilled and stern leader. Middle aged- serious. Despite being quite emotionally disconnected from the group, Chorda was able to lead them into following her orders one way or another- like how a parent negotiates with her different kids on why they should do what she says yknow?
To Ingrid, she provided her lots of things to do and treated her like a second in command- which boosted Ingrid's obedience since she wanted to be seen as a good and reliable soldier.
To Mira, she didn't humor any of her attempts at slyness and never gave her any reaction if she frustrated her- which made Mira bored of trying to make her annoyed and would begrudgingly follow orders.
To Sasha, she gave a decent amount of attention. Sasha wants praise and for someone to appreciate her- so Chorda also gave her lots of things to do so she could be rewarded with attention and "You did a good job."
To Cynthia, she recognized her natural affinity for agility and would push her towards doing things to use her more effectively.
She used all of them very efficiently as a leader, using their flaws and strengths the best she could as a squad- but she never really addressed their issues or insecurities or tried to fix the hurt in them. She just, used what she had and stayed as unpersonal as possible.
It made leaving them in the dead of the night a bit easier for her during the Inkantation- when she was struck with the memory of who she truly failed. Someone very far away... and who Chorda wanted to reunite with at all costs...
...Only to fall, alone, into the Deep Sea Metro.
Katabasis; a journey to the underworld.
Who was Chorda trying to search for?
Oh yknow
the splatlandian octo lady she accidentally knocked up during a distant mission and had a summer fling with
nothing major
So what happened to Katabasis once she fell into the metro?
She got sanitized, and spent Many years down there before well OE where she eventually, slowly, made her way to the surface. And when I mean slowly I mean SLOWLY. Because she only just about made it there in time for Side Order.
Eventually she went through the Orderland Program, gained her memories back, annnnnnnd booked it to the Splatlands to finish the business she ran away for.
