 #146: Check out Saratoga Chowder Fest

Chowder Fest is an annual event in Saratoga that happens the first weekend in February. People stand in long lines in the freezing cold for samples of chowder (soup), at a cost of $1 per sample (3 oz). Then they vote on the best chowder in the area! In the meantime, all the businesses are open and have sales, there's music on the corners, and the bars are a-hopping.

Dogs are welcome, and some restaurants event have samples of dog chowder!

You can pick up ballot forms from any participating restaurant, and then you turn them in at the Saratoga Springs City Center.

This weekend...

I'm going to Boston to visit my brother Dan who has been gone for just about three weeks! Tomorrow is filled with both the Country Club and Tanglewood but I am leaving Friday afternoon. Friday is Dan's birthday and we are going to see White Denim at the Brighton Music Hall and then Saturday we are heading down to The Cape with some people for Chowder Fest. Excitement builds. This is much needed. I'm throwing together a roadtrip playlist right now- you guys want me to throw a tape together and upload it for download?
