ALIEN COVENANT

For Alien Covenant I worked mainly in the Set-Dec Dept. under the direction of Victor J. Zolfo, and occasionally Production Designer, Chris Seagers.

A fair bit of work was done remotely from my home studio, however I did spend a few months in Sydney’s Fox Studios, Art department. Where I was able to experience this film in full production. The giant sets and creature department were amazing to visit. Here are a few selected concepts from my time working on this project. Definitely a dream come true to work on such a seminal and influential franchise alongside such talented artists.

Alien Covenant : The Plaza by  Ev Shipard

Concept art for the Plaza on the alien world. Some of these were very early Art Dept paintings with a couple of isolated buildings done towards end for VFX. The loose study is more of a mood board, of which there were many, illustrating the various stages of the expedition- these were done for Chris Seagers and Ridley Scott, who boarded most of his film, to help define the story beats. A nice change from the more resolved, finished pieces. Production Designer- Chris Seagers
