This is a bird creature that I worked from black and white and overlayed with color on Photoshop. I heard about this process, and this is my first time trying it out. It’s an interesting process... This process eased the overwhelm of infinite color choices and play around with color easier. I think this is a good process to quickly work out color schemes and values. Still got a lot more to learn. I love how painting always stimulates my little brain! Woo!

I’ve been listening to Chiustream while I work. He always says encouraging things with helpful tips about art and life even. For a person who works alone at home without any art community, this type of access to art communities have been my greatest teacher. Thank you Mr. Internet. Thank you Bobby Chiu! Thank you Chris Oatley! Thank you everyone who uses their time to help people.  Perhaps one day, I'll be good enough to make positive influences on others as well.

Took the plunge and enrolled in The Magic Box at The Oatley Academy today. I've already gone through some of the information in the first lesson and all I can say is: So informative! There's so much to learn and it's awesome! 

Thanks chrisoatley for designing this curriculum and sharing what you know! I'm super excited to be a part of this!

Day 1

Hello!

As a challenge to myself and a means of getting in some good practice, I will be doing one drawing every single day for 100 days straight.

I can't guarantee that I'll be able to upload a picture every day, as I might not always have access to internet. In that case, when I do update, I will post multiple pictures for each day.

Obviously if I'm on my deathbed I won't be able to keep it up, but I'm gonna do a Pat Benatar and hit it with my best shot.

And here's Day 1 - a rough sketch of my first assignment at the Chris Oatley Academy.
