❥ Catherine's Royal Vault : The jewellery worn by The Princess of Wales for the Christmas Morning Service at Sandringham.
The Doctor arrived at Duchess's on December 25th, Christmas day. He had a present in his hand for her as he knocked on her door. They had planned on spending Christmas together and the Doctor was excited to see how that would go.
Duchess smiled brightly as she opened the door to her apartment, smiling even wider when she saw who was standing there. "Doctor!" She moved forward to hug him and give him a kiss, before grabbing his hand, almost dragging him inside.
"Come look at the tree, I went for a TARDIS theme." The tree had lights and baubles on in various shades of blue and white, with a light blue bow underneath the star on top of the tree.
There was a present under it with a tag that said, for my love, the Doctor. The smell of Christmas dinner cooking wafted through the apartment as well.
Christmas Eve
I think I have found a sliver of Christmas spirit and I am hanging onto it for dear life. It's growing as the day goes on. It started seeing my 8 year olds face light up when she opened her Christmas Eve box from the elves this morning, She took out her little gingerbread shaped hot chocolate cup and asked if she could have hot chocolate for breakfast. Instantly she said no thinking that's what I was going to say but then I said yes and she gave me a huge cuddle. These are the moments that pick me up and keep me moving forward.
Of course my two teenage boys who also got Christmas Eve boxes couldn't care less but I just know their faces will light up tomorrow morning when they open their brand new consoles and then get to set them up and play Fortnite with their friends on a faster better graphical console, ha ha!
Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all have a lovely time!
Christmas Pressure
I always feel the Christmas Pressure. The stress of getting every single person multiple gifts and making sure everyone has the perfect gifts and really running myself into the ground with it.
This year was no different until I was wandering around Tesco picking up last minute gifts and food bits and I was observing all the chaos around me.
Every person in the store had a trolley that was overflowing, there were people arguing and pushing past each other. No one looked happy. No one looked Jolly. Each person looked stressed and miserable.
The commercialism genuinely has taken over! It's all about stuff now instead of about family and love and being there for one another. I'm not immune to it myself either but I hate myself for it!
Maybe next year I can try and be less materialistic and maybe worry less about the things and more about the people around me.
So sleepy but have to clean because my Mum is arriving this afternoon. Which is great but we had another pregnancy-related scare last night (didn't actually have to go to the ER this time, just rang and spoke to someone and baby is fine but it was a stressful night all-round and I don't think the dog managed to sleep even because he's currently wiped out on my bed instead of following me around in case I drop food) so I didn't sleep like I really needed to and now I'm suffering.
I think I'm going to try and clean the kitchen and living room this morning, then take Murphy out and give him a bath, clean the hallway, shower myself and then try and nap. That...is seeming like a lot to do before 4pm I'm not gonna lie. Oh and cook. We'll see how much of that I manage. At least it's my Mum who's coming over, her expectations of my living conditions are low.
