Last night at 1am I finally finished what I am calling “Phase 1” of the smallest’s Christmas stocking. I’ve had this fabric for ages so not entirely sure why I left it to the week before Christmas to make it! 😅😅 but anyway, I did it in two nights. The first I made a pattern and then cut out the fabric and one set of wadding. I then realised I didn’t have enough wadding or anything to finish the edges with so spent a good 40 minutes finding places that sold what I wanted, but used Evri and not Royal Mail (FYI I support the strikes! 💪🏻). Then last night I cut out the last bit of wadding, sewed the bits together by quilting, sewed the front and back pieces together and then spent ages trying to make the bias binding work even though it was nowhere deep enough for what I needed! 😬😬 I’m very pleased that it’s finished to a useable state! The next phase will be unpicking the bias binding and the seams, finishing the seams properly and adding bigger bias binding to the seams and also the top! 😃 Ill also add a loop and I’m thinking a nice tassel too! Very exciting delivery today from my favourite @woolwarehouse !! Since the birth of baby #2 two years ago my crafting mojo has been a bit low. Mainly due to #2 being a 3am party animal and me starting a new job, which hasn’t left much brain energy for creative projects! I am happy to say my crafting mojo is back! I have some lovely stash-busting knitting WIPS, which I will share once they’re completed and also two sewing projects I will start imminently! One is a project to make Christmas stockings for the girls and one is to make a Christmas table runner and napkins. I bought this gorgeous @libertyfabrics Woodland Wonderland fabric for the table runner and the @dashwoodstudio Merry Menagerie and Oh What Fun - Christmas Trees fabric for one of the stockings. I bought some other fabric for a stocking before #2 was born. I didn’t have enough for two stockings though and it’s taken me this long to find something else I like.
