Christopher Lennertz (The Boys' Music Composer) insta story, December 6, 2024
erickripke1: I could not be more proud of and grateful to my team. The insane hard work and passion they put into @theboystv every day is humbling. An honor to work with you, @3youngkings @jen.murrayyy @alec_back @river.dsa @stuntmanmo. And to @clennertzmusic, one of my best friends since college and scores everything I ever do. Look what we fucking got away with, man! @televisionacad

You might remember Lennertz's work on Supernatural:
Meet the composer who made Supernatural *sound* like Supernatural. 🎶
Christopher Lennertz scored half of the show's 327 episodes—and he's spilling secrets about creating the Winchester sound. From using cellos to represent Dad to making sure the music could pivot from scary to funny without giving away the twist, Chris built a sonic world that felt like classic rock and creepy horror had a baby.
Plus: Why he thinks comedy is the hardest thing to score, what "schmuckbait" means, and how watching Ghost Facers with fresh eyes reminded him just how special this show was.
Emmy-winning composer. Fraternity brother to Eric Kripke. Master of the misdirect.

hannibal s2e13 (bloodfest c. brian reitzell) / claire rousay - iii (album: sentiment) / supernatural s13e17 (c. christopher lennertz) / hannibal s3e6 (variation on bloodfest c. brian reitzell)
so claire rousay is quite new to me (found via some npr wrap up of best 50 albums of 2024) and every time i listen to this song i'm like urgh it's got a sound that's like the oscillating sound in bloodfest. and i've compared this bit of music from supernatural 13x17 to bloodfest before as well so why not just collect everything. i included the original bloodfest appearance in mizumono, which is very forward and also the variation in dolce which is a lot more muted and subdued, which is a bit more like the sound in the supernatural score.
and because this is pretty much always the case, after i put together these things i'm like 🤔 these are not really that similar HOWEVER in my defense, every time i'm minding my business working on something and i have this music playing in the background it bonks me over the head like BLOODFESSSST MAKE THE POST. so i'm making the post so i can stop the cycle

I was tagged by @dame-zoom-a-lot and thought it would be fun to expose my recent listening habits: horror ambience for writing, reading, and soothing. With a dash of gay. Spotify links under the cut.
