thoughts on slipknot being in the dcu but not firestorm
Well it's a brand new day now. What kind of Firestorm do you want? I quite enjoyed the Martin Stein/Jason Rusch combo on the CW.

Now I kinda want to see Jason form the matrix with his girlfriend, Gehenna. What do you want? Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein? The original combo? Firehawk? aka Lorrainie Reilly?
Firestorm is lowkey a Dr. Manhattan level of power in the DCU. But Baby Joey technically has the same powers. So a Firestorm movie should address this is a world with Captain Atom and Major Force.
I have to admit that the only thing I know about Slipknot is that he is the first villain in the original suicide squad comic to get his arm blown off. People forget, it wasn't always a bomb in their neck. It started as a cuff on their wrist. It was dumb to put him in the original squad and have him be the first to die exactly like the comic. Totally missed the point of why the comic was exciting. You didn't know who would die or survive. Plus switching it to getting the guy's head blown off and then you see him hanging by his own rope was very upsetting.
I am all for actors getting their "super redemption" such as Edi Gathegi. (Justice for Darwin!) Mister Terrific was the breakout star for me. I didn't expect to like him so much. He was incredible, terrific even. Slipknot's portrayal speaks to a larger problem of native characters being disposable in cinema. So I was happy to see that Adam Beach was in New Mutants as Dani Moonstar's father. I do hope there's another more exciting role for him in the current DCU.
